Pretty easy to not get banned (not banned, put in timeout is a better phrase since these aren't permabans).

Anybody banned, when lobbying to me in PM always starts it off admitting guilt, that they troll, mess with others, etc. Then get surprised when a moderator tells them to cut the shit out.

If you can't operate without getting banned, you're being a dick.

Thanks for teh help guys. Being the type whose mouth butter would not melt in, I have never been banned on CCS, and I would like to keep it that way because someone has to make a good impression for the kids, and to be quite frank I see myself as that type of guy. Please allow this message to reassure you all that, despite being kinda riffraff in comparison, I do still consider you bros.

Hmm, that link works.

It's in the announcements section as a sticky, and has been there since nearly day one. We also have a nag screen with a reminder on top of the forum whenever they are updated.

When a user is banned, permanent or temporary, the rules are also displayed in full, being the only thing a user can read when they log-on to the site. A suggestion Grimson made, and we listened by building the landing so users are sure to see the same rules.

So it's a bit funny that a few posters think that creating a habit of following users, organizing dislike-rep attacks on users, not just on a mod(but really, what a bonehead move that really brought it to our attention, in a system that we can see all the comments as they aren't private from the staff). Apparently that is not antagonizing users, and for whatever reason they should have had their hands held and not been banned without a warning(when we have asked users not to dislike bomb and rep farm multiple times in the past, also posts that were read by some of the guilty party here). Sorry no, we're not stupid and none of us are going to tolerate users that decide to find every loophole possible to antagonize users(which is clearly written there in rule #1.)

It's just a select few users that are ruining it for the rest. Having a handful of users post a lot is still just traffic from a handful of users. Having many users visit the site is real traffic. Using a roadway analogy, if a car or multiple cars are driving in circles on the highway to create traffic, that doesn't mean the roads are getting more of the traffic they want, that means some idiots are creating congestion for the rest to drive around.

And another point that was brought up. The users also said they were bringing up a point that they were demonstrating a flaw in the rep system. Well, the rep system here is vbulletin's default reputation system. So I guess if they want it fixed, they need to go to vbulletin.org to fight their good fight. BS meter is through the roof on that comment. But whatever, benefit of the doubt, if they want to fix the problem and are genuine, then go to the vbulletin developers.

A friend doesn't complain when their buddies pick on them, because they know each other's jokes and tolerances. But doing it as an attack on users who aren't friends, who aren't on the inside of that joke, don't find it funny.

I'm impressed by how much drama all of these misunderstandings have caused. Hopefully this dialogue is clarifying things for users here, even if the staff may not be learning much from the users, it's a good start. The last part is not "trolling" or anything like that btw, I understand that in times like these, the staff needs to have a succinct front for solidarity's sake, and entertaining the perspectives of people they don't appreciate for whatever reasons can be viewed as weakness. At least people are talking. Hopefully we can get back to talking seriously about sports, maybe having a laugh or two, and be entertained by this interactive community. It's still about entertianment, isn't it?

Maybe he's talking about how you guys try to dislike Jack Lame all at the same time?

But I thought it was just retaliatory because he negs all you guys whenever he signs on. Scoot seemed cool with that in slack though right? So maybe there's some mixed messages going on.

I'm just glad I wasn't a part of last night's activities. Scoot told Novak in slack that if I had disliked him, I would have been permabanned. For realz.
