You poor thing. You know it will not make you any "smarter" if you were the only one here.

I thought the board's talking loud and saying nothing crew said the Dodgers were stupid for spending money and had no shot of the playoffs this year.

Hmmm, went out and added high priced and productive players like Hanley Ramirez, Adrian Gonzalez and Zack Greinke and mixed them in with talent from the system in Puig, Kershaw, Kemp and Jansen.

And somehow people keep claiming doing that silly little BOTH thing can't work.

Only problem in retaining Sori was in his age. By the time this team gets guys like Baez and Bryant on the team Sori would be 39-40.

Other than that he was fine in LF.

This should be interesting.

The Dodgers who are the dumbest team in baseball for actually spending money.

The same Dodgers who had the Troll Patrol lining up to tell me how dumb I was when I predicted near the end of June that the Dodgers would make the playoffs.

19-6 since and gone from roughly 5 games behind Arz to 2.5 games in front.

Good to see Lake do well though, still don't like Rusin.

By the time Soriano will be 39-40 he would have no longer been under contract with the Cubs.

Interesting that vick took the time to specifically quote two comments that he says he doesn't care about.

The only reason he doesn't care is revisionist history in the fact that he was completely wrong as usual.

If the Dodgers would still be playing poorly at this time, the series thread would be all about how dumb the Dodgers are for spending all that money, blah, blah, blah.

But the Dodgers are playing the best baseball in the majors over the last month or so, so now the Troll Patrol tries to claim they don't care with cute little pictures and icons.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
This tiny thread has a huge strawman posted by the anti-troll patrol patrol.

If he is able to replace Soriano and put up like numbers, and Soriano had roughly the teams top offensive stats, what does that say about the cornerstone players at SS and 1B that Lake is far superior to at this point?

Soriano had roughly the teams top offensive stats...almost identical to those of Rizzo. People want to blast Rizzo for having a mediocre sophomore season (first full season at that), but yet want to decry trading away the almighty Soriano.

Lake has been really good so far, and might be a nice piece moving forward. The plus of moving a guy like Soriano, outside of the salary relief and prospect that they got in the trade, is the chance to give a young guy that could possibly be a part of the future a chance to play in games this season. It sure doesn't hurt my feelings getting the chance to see him playing well and earning the chance to stay up this season, instead of playing some of the other guys that they have had out there this season.

Doesn't hurt my feelings either. In fact, I wish they would put Lake at 2nd base instead of Barney, or 3rd base instead of Valbuena.

Hell, if he has a cannon for an arm and good enough footwork, see if he can catch and put him behind the plate. :lmao:

Very nice to see the Cubs are now having to platoon at the clean up spot in the order. This is what i call some major progress after two seasons.

Well done Boy Blunder.

Junior Lake has had three fantastic at-bats again today. Putting the ball in play, working the pitch count and keeping his focus on looking for pitches to make contact on. I like the adjustments he's mad during this series.

first off , my post wasnt saying that lake will be hitting 25+ HRs, though we wont know for sure for a while..
he is off to a nice start .323 AVG .908 OPS 4 Hr .344 OBP batting 1st or 2nd

in just 15 games and taking over for soriano, he has a much better AVG. , and half the HRs sori hit from Apr to July.

my post was in regards to someone saying soriano was the most productive player on this team and along with garza (6 wins ) was the main reason why they have 49 wins to date.. I say BS to both claims.

im tired of reading from a few of you with the bashing of Rizzo production and glorifying soriano's..

soriano Apr to july .256 9 HR 35 RBI Rizzo Apr to July .252 12 HR 48 RBI so please spare me and everyone else the agenda and hate towards rizzo and saying that soriano was their best offensive player.. soriano got hot in a 2+ week stretch in July where he hit 8 HR and drove in 16 Runs, that what you all remember and what your hanging your hat on as far as soriano productivity for the team..

also, you all over look the fact that at the same time as soriano streak, castro also started hitting the way he capable of again..
.292 3 HR .339 OBP .781 OPS

so, to say soriano was their most productive offensive player, or that he was the main offensive reason for them winning 49 games is plain ignorant and stupid and only mentioned because of an agenda and hate towards epstein and rizzo..

despite the Low AVG. Rizzo is tied for 7th with 17 Hrs and 10th in RBIs 62 among all 1Bmen ..

there are a handful of guys having mind blowing seasons ( davis , goldschmidt, craig, and encarnacion ) with HRs and RBIs, but other then them he is right there with everyone else including the GREAT pujols ( 17,64) and Fielder ( 17, 76 ) in pwer and runs production..
fielder has him on RBIs but he is also playing on a better offensive team..

so, enough with the rizzo bashing and soriano was their best offensive player and they wont survive without him in the line up..
