I mean I don't think there were any bad intentions with it, but I'm not surprised that it could be viewed the way it was by Cousins. Maybe make the CNY celebration the main thing on February 8th or whenever it is, and not sort of throw BHM and CNY together on one night.

that just feeds into the whole "monkey" as a "black" term though. if you really want to get away from those horrible stereotypes you cant react negatively to something that obviously had no harmful intent.
