Rugers are good guns, and yours looks nice....I have a couple Beretta PX4 Storms in .40 cal...They're nice also...I have the full size and the subcompact. Worth taking a look at if anyone is in the market. They come in 9mm..40 cal, and .45 cal as well...One of the nice features is that no matter which size ya get (sub compact, compact, or full size),the longer 14 or 17 round)magazines fit em all. They're easy to field strip, and are sturdy guns to boot.

In a pinch, no. Especially if the gun wasn't broken in.
If I knew the place(factor in that they have a lot of self-interest in not having their customer's blow up with their loads), and saw how they were loading(what kind of loader, ect), then yeah, I would be okay with it.

As for a video, no. We were humping so much gear, and this was before camera phones. IDK if someone has one up on youtube.

That's the best I can find. These guys are having some fun with it, despite not knowing how to use it. They're used for quite a few things, and I don't think we ever used them for breaching trip mines(maybe the manual suggested it, I have no idea, *edit* Ah yeah, that's some Vietnam shit). We built many rope bridges with these, which seems to be the bread-and-butter usage. Anyhow, they aren't anywhere near using it right LOL. Oh well.
Thanks for advice Crys, I'm gonna pass on using reloads all together. I ended up finding a box of 100 Winchester FMJ's (165 grain) for $41.

And damn, poor Santa! Hahahaha

$18 for reloads is about right these days, but I wouldn't go higher than that. I wouldn't pay more than $25/50rds of new ammo.

Unfortunately, you've just picked a horrible time to try to find pistol rounds. it's actually much better than it was 2-3 months ago. You can use gunbot to locate ammo on the interwebz, but shipping sucks.
Thanks for the advice Matt, I appreciate it! I ended up finding a box of 100 Winchester 165 grain FMJ for $41...now I just gotta figure out what SD ammo I wanna use.

The good old value pack. That's solid ammo.

Next question. Do you know how to break down your pistol, and how to clean it correctly? :D

Yes, I do. I've watched every YouTube video there is on field stripping and cleaning the weapon lol.

I bought gun scrubber, oil, grease, a cleaning kit, etc...yesterday.

I shot approx 50 rounds today while I was already at the range picking up my gun. I'm getting ready to break it down and clean it now before Da Bears come on.

Today is a good day to say the least :D

Congrats. I'm a revolver man myself, but that's because it never required the effort you have made with your purchase. Don't pull your gun on a paperboy and then post about it on the internet.

Revolvers are simple and easy to use...No Muss, No Fuss... Overall, I prefer em like you do. But for sheer firepower, there is nothing like the right semi-auto

Ruger makes some good guns. I am partial to wheel guns, I have a GP100, with a 6" barrel for home defense-no need to worry about spring fatigue like a semi auto. Nice looking gun there. Although the backs are different, it reminds me of my XD-45 Compact.

I think he may mean striker fire rather than hammer fire when he says "glock style" trigger.

Range ammo is typically a lower grain (weight of the actual projectile) than HD ammo..The lower the grain the more recoil (excluding +p, ++p). It comes down to what's cheap to shoot, really. I have remington golden sabers for HD/competition and buy bulk for range time.

No, he means safety on the trigger. Striker fire.

Browning's FN 1910 was striker fired. Gaston Flock did not pioneer the striker fired semi auto.
