It's taking me a bit longer to find things out these days.

The only reason I knew was that one of the STH's next to me had a client from Adventist who works in their CCU and a sailing friend who works at Rush that attended to him and both mentioned that he was at either place. Neither said it was anything serious, but with respecting HIPPA they would not elaborate too much beyond that.

I just got off the phone with Q in his room, he got internal bleeding from laughing so hard at the Dylan Olsen thread.

Its a nasty flu. Something the "Flu Shots" they all receive at the beginning of the year would not cover. I guess Scott had it pretty bad.

Great to hear nothing serious. So i guess this ends the speculation that the skating corpses put their coach in cardiac arrest. I'll fess up to having that initial reaction.

I get that it's all minor and he seems to be doing well but at the same time....

I'm a little worried that he went from "Probably coach tomorrow" to still in the hospital running tests.

and I really hate to read that he had "a little bit of internal bleeding that couldn't stop"...

Just curious...where did you hear/read that? Doesn't sound like "the flu".

Ulcer most likely. And perhaps one developed from the bacteria from the sickness.

Ulcers are actually cause by a specific bacteria. They can be quite painful, especially if they are bleeding

Well we can all rest easy... "Queneville is expected to make a full recovery" per Tim Sassone on Twitter. He makes it sounds like he was in a car accident and broke his neck. How serious is a "small ulcer"? Aren't they pretty easily taken care of if caught in time?

It wouldn't surprise me if he has the flu as well as a GI bleed...

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=553126

Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has been diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding caused by a small ulcer, and team doctors said he will remain in the hospital while recovering.

"Joel was originally admitted to the hospital early Wednesday morning due to gastrointestinal bleeding," said Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry. "He has been stabilized and today the cause of the bleeding was determined to be a small ulcer caused by aspirin. He is resting comfortably at the hospital and we anticipate him to make a full recovery and to be released in the next few days."

There is no timetable for his return to the bench. Assistant coach Mike Haviland coached the Blackhawks in Wednesday's win against the Wild

Quenneville got a visit from Hawks assistant coach Mike Kitchen after Wednesday's 3-1 victory, and he also spoke by phone with Haviland.

"I talked to Q late last night, after the game," Haviland, who picked up a win in his NHL head-coaching debut, told reporters following Thursday's practice. "We talked about the game. He watched the majority of it and he was very pleased and very happy about the game. I know he has some tests today, but he was laughing when I talked to him last night. He was in good spirits. He was joking and laughing on the phone, so it was good to hear."

yes Grimson. Lots of people are just fine once they get it taken care of. He's not going to be having spicy food or alcohol for a while though

Throwing up repeatedly from the stomach flu would have thinking it would make any ulcer or issue in the stomach worse.

Meh, what do you know ******!

I think I'll rename you Kerfuffle Jr.
