Not to say I called it... but I called it. I had Daniels as my #1 QB coming out. The guy is just a winner and his poise off the charts. But here is the kicker -- if you check my OP's from during that time, I started a thread talking about Bo Nix and how we should consider him for #1 if we do not go with JD.

I love not following "group think".... was right so far on both guys. But I did get Drake Maye wrong though. I had him as a turnover machine that we should avoid at #1. Maye is still turning the ball over some but watching him at the NFL level, the guy belongs -- makes it look easy/has "big time" written on him.

Last year Washington had a worse record than the Bears.

Now they've won a playoff game. On the road.

I'm not sure what the future holds for Caleb Williams, but Daniels is a Bonafide star in this league right now.

One playoff win and this is where are?

Lions vs Commanders and the Lions are going to boat race them.

Daniels and Nix went to better situations. Drake Maye is in a situation comparable to Caleb.

My point being - it's FAR too early to be declaring victory or defeat on ANY of these guys just yet....

I'm not going to get into a debate about why a 170 pound QB isn't going to make it in the NFL. But Jayden Daniels is the last guy I'd draft.

Yet another reason no one takes you seriously. Great job Biff. Keep it up. We're all laughing at you.

I remember when RGIII was bonafide star after his first season too...

Absent the Bears being good, I feel happy for Washington fans. They're one of only a few franchises who have also been mostly terrible for a long time.

In fact, I'm liking the resurgence lately of long-terrible franchises becoming legit contenders. Actually makes for really compelling football. Washington, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Kansas City.

Much rather have those cities trade championships than Boston, New York & LA.

Good for them.

We should all revisit after next year. Nix has been great from the pocket and Daniels is running a mostly college O, EFFECTIVELY. Will be fun to see how the league and players adjust to Daniels, maybe this week but the Lions are still really shorthanded on D and Daniels may eat up the blitzing they've used to compensate.

Wonder how Kliff Kingsbury leaving would impact Jayden Daniels? Would be interesting to see what kind of effect that has, or if it does at all.

I think you have missed the point.

Again, Washington was worse than Chicago a year ago.

Now, they're better than Chicago.

Why is that?

Coaching, Culture.

I have no doubt if caleb went to the broncos or commanders he'd have been in the playoffs too and had a better year, likely winning ROTY.

This is a team game where coaching is of upmost importance, some people dont get that.

Cool. Good for the Lions. CJ Stroud just won his 2nd playoff game, and people on this forum were bashing him, too. I guess they hate QBs who win in the postseason.

There are a myriad of factors.

1) The Chicago Bears were overrated.

2) The defense in 2023 played well against backup QBs.

3) The Chicago Bears started training camp with one viable defensive tackle in Andrew Billings. Gervon Dexter came on and seems more viable now so that gives the Bears two viable defensive tackles that they played with all year. You can't be a good team with no defensive tackles.

4) The Chicago Bears had two viable defensive ends to start training camp. Austin Booker is not who you run out there as your third DE. Maybe he'll be good in 3 years.

5) The offensive line was a mess. Injuries also piled up in a massive way.

6) Coaching was awful and probably cost the Bears 3 wins if not more.
