He'll get a base coaching job somewhere at the very least.
I saw when I watched him. He's been under Piniella for 3 years or so and he now has his tactics. You'll see when the season comes. The only different is he's not afraid to bench players. But, he loves Hill....
He loves Hill over Castillo. He played Soto almost everyday when he was healthy.
I love the move to me its the best guy out there for this team and he comes very cheap. Now lets work on dumping a big contract or two and add some pieces.
because it is that easy.
Like the move. Sandberg's old-school style of managing has no place in modern baseball, especially w/ his infatuation w/ bunting. He'd make the Cubs bunt way too much and play too much small ball, which can score you runs but if you rely on it to score most of your runs you won't score many.
Well, this makes things easy where expectations are concerned. It was nice of the new ownership to tell everyone to not bother next year. Oh, but wait, theyre not telling anyone that...they just want to sit on a pile of money. Sorry, Im not paying top dollar to watch some BS arrangement of waiting for contracts to expire.
I was really hoping this ownership would be different.
you had to expect this. most knowledgeable fans knew it was win now! win now! when they went on the FA bonanza. and if they did not, than this would be the outcome. its not going to be 5 years, but it will take a couple of years. atleast you are realistic and not blowing these threads up with useless fantasy thoughts of the cubs buying players and trading away bad contracts with ease.
