You missed the kicker position. Until further notice it has been absolute failure under Pace.
True, but isn't the new guy supposed to be good?

Supposed to be. Made a prowl bowl if IIRC. Young.True, but isn't the new guy supposed to be good?

I'll never claim to be a scout or to even watch that much college football, but a 5'11" guy who's a bit on the slow side coming out of a draft that had a notoriously low value on WRs, coupled with the fierce competition he faced in the American Athletic Conference...I feel safe in my half-assed assessment.
Am I going to pull tape? No. I cannot sit through more than a few seconds of a youtube highlight reel with shitty rap music and a guy making plays where half the time he's wide the **** open, and he's never going to see coverage that shitty in the NFL.
Forget the question marks about Trubisky. I have no doubt he's mentally tough and a true leader. He might not end up being an elite QB, but he'll be the greatest Bears QB of all time. Mark my words, he'll have the trajectory to be the greatest Bears QB all time in a couple of years, and a lot of fans will turn on him because we haven't won a Super Bowl yet - you can count on that in this town. How quickly they forget when we had QBs like Orton and Grossman. Trubisky is the real deal.
Be very worried about our WRs. Allen Robinson is never going to sniff 1,400 yards and 14 TDs ever again. A grade three ACL tear is still a serious, career threatening injury. To put it in laymen's terms, his ceiling is now what ProFootball Focus calls "average."
Kevin White has missed too much time to be competitive in the NFL ever again.</end>
Who's left? Taylor Gabriel? Are you kidding me?Earl BennettAnthony Miller? Who's not only short but slow too. Bellamy might see the field this year.
And last but not least, always remember, Matt Nagy has never been a head football coach at any level, but George McCaskey and Ted Phillips - with their stellar record for hiring coaches - looked past that because Nagy explicitly said he wanted the job.

Shut up, chunkyI don't see that song catching on but if you like it just keep listening, thanks for sharing though.
Do I need to edit that for you, or can you infer what I meant?

I'm optimistic for this regime and am starting to build expectations for signs of real growth this season. But that "NFL Execs" thread got me thinking about all the question marks going into this season.
Lets make a list of unknowns that the bears are depending on for success this season.
Here is what I have:
Nagy and the rest of the new coaching staff (almost entirely on O): Sounds like Nagy so far has a vision, a system for realizing that vision, and an approach for teaching it that is working. But he still has to be tested as the leader of this team. Right now everything is all roses and unicorns. What about when the bears lose a couple? What about if the bears lose 3 in a row with a bad one in there? Will Nagy be able to keep the team together, keep them fighting, and right the ship? Can't take that skill for granted. It's not a foregone conclusion that Nagy will be able to lead through adversity.
Trubs - Will he be able to really ingest this O? There are a lotta moving parts. Multiple checks, RPOs, receivers running option routes based on reads... will he be able to see the field? Will he learn to make the correct reads? Will he get on the same page as receivers running option routes? Can he be cerebral and still be fast?
Burton and Gabriel - Bears are counting on both of these guys taking a big step in their careers. Neither has been a featured part of the O in the past. Can they both step up into those roles?
Injuries - The bears have three players they need to be in their top 10 performers and all 3 are coming off injury - Robinson, Long, and Floyd. Will they be ready to go? How much time will they need to get into game shape? Will they be playing through any lingering pain?
OLB - Bears need at least 1 olb to step up their game. Really, they need two. But outta their collection of guys that are 2nd or 3rd tier FAs or young guys that never got extensive looks, someone has to step up. This becomes even more critical if Floyd doesn't increase his production.
Smith - If bears are going to take a step forward on D, Smith has be at least competent almost from day one. Bears had a noticeably worse D last year when they didn't have both ILB starters on the field.
Fuller and Amos - Will we see the 2017 version or the 2018 version? Will these guys continue to build or will they regress? Especially with Fuller, its not certain last year's high level of play will continue
Goldman - Can he stay healthy? The Bears need him on the field and he has not been reliable
Am I missing anything else obvious?
Considering I'm a laymen can you explain the difference between a grade 2 ACL tear and a grade 3? Also, what players have suffered grade 3 tears over the last say, 5 years?
Grade 3 is full thickness. Majority of people that tear their ACL end up with grade 3. Grade II is 50% (ish) of all fibers. That shit just ends up tearing anyway ala Deshaun Watson last year whn he got hurt against Seattle I think and then tore it fully in practice.
Regardless, when the ligament is repaired the old stuff is removed and replaced with a tendon.
To answer your question then, just about all players from surgery are coming off a grade 3 year.
Shut up, chunky
Every team has questions. We are no worse off than other teams who will be contending for the playoffs.
