I just don't think the talent gap is that ridiculous anymore.

I know people fawn over the 90s NBA, but in all actuality the overall level of players has increased tremendously. While you may not have as many top tier starts, the 8th-9th guys are significantly better now than they were in the 90s.

I think a lot of teams would be hard pressed to ever get near that 70-72 win pleateu every again. That bunch would get you 60 easy, 65 tops.

PG: Rose
SG: Allen
SF: James
PF: Bosh
C: Noah

That would be the best starting lineup in the history of the NBA. I don't even know how they could lose. How could they not win 80?

By scoring fewer points than the other team.

that would indeed be a good team i would love to have.

but best team in history, IDK about that, it looks good on paper but we got to see how it translates to the court.

Did Gary Payton, Kobe, Karl Malone and Shaq win 80 games? 70?

I see that 72 win season holding up for a long long time.

Bad comparison. You weren't getting 1996 Payton and 1997 Malone. Those guys were shells of their former selves.

LULZ at this. Why would you not compare them relative to the positions they play?

Rose>>>>>Payton then
Lebron now>Kobe then
Bosh>>>Malone that season
Shaq then>>>>>>>>>>Noah

exactly

malone i guess was still decent

payton was a defensive specialist at that point

and "best" does not always mean most talented..that 03-04 lakers team was good no doubt but they werent the best team...arguably the most talented..but a team with arguably NO stars...the Detroit Pistons..who yes had a very good all around starting 5 with Prince,Wallaces,Hamilton, and Billups played well as a group and were disciplined under Larry Brown one of the best coaches to ever be in the NBA imo... was the "best" team and thats why the lakers lost to the them in 04

so this is why i hesitate to compare individual players when comparing two teams.....and that one guy didnt even compare the players according to similar position LOL..you cant compare kobe and bosh...two completely different players

Malone and GP were on their last legs, that was a win now or never type of team. Kobe was in his prime and Shaq was just past his. Noah and Rose arent close to their peak. LeBron is the most dominant player in the game and hasnt peaked and i would argue that Bosh hasnt either. The Lakers old men werent top players in their positions anymore. They more resemble the current Boston team than what the Bulls would be with Bosh and LeBron. Im not saying they would win 80 but i dont think its a fair comparison.
