Im thrilled for Ray after all that guy has been through with his hip. He really shouldn't be playing pro hockey right now it's crazy how he has come back through his hip injury and that strange disease.

Im sure he will be the first to say its a team record..but he does deserve a lot of credit for what he has done.

I love our goaltending situation. We have two guys that are playing like number ones and there is no goalie controversy. It is fucking awesome

Dude 10-0-0 has NEVER been done by a goalie EVER to start a season and he did it as a BACK UP!!!

NOT a complete team record since he completely 150% stole the Calgary game.

Yeah, but there are no Russians on Calgary so that counts as a half win.

32 games, Gerry Cheevers... but that's not "to start a season"... if we are talking about in general, Emery has not broken any record. 17 games Gilbert if we are talking winning streaks.

Edit: nvm... didn't realize you found it.

How about this one:

Longest continuous shutout by a goaltender: Alec Connell, 461 minutes, 29 seconds (7 gms, 2 pds) (1927–28)

Pretty impressive! Must be Russian.

Sidenote: what is pds?

Thats incredible. They must have faced 15 shots a game back then and by "shot" I mean a 10 mile per hour slap shot.

pds? whatcha talkin bout fancypants?

While they both are playing well, I think RayRay has earned the right to at least continue to get starts until he loses. 12 - 0? yeeeah, I think he deserves more starts.

Emery has had to overcome a lot more than Crawford. He deserves equal opportunity to succeed.
