If it's a 1 year deal, I'm fine with that.

I don't know why people would be mad/irate

I'm sure the medical staff is aware if he's going to have issues.

He appeared in 34gms 2yrs ago...and 21 of 48 last year

3yrs at 1.5mil...locks up the backup goalie. He seems to be a pretty good team guy and I wouldn't doubt he helped CC quite a bit. He's only 30yrs old and worse case scenario...he goes on LTIR. 1.5mil for a vet goalie is tradeable.

Since coming back from the injury, he's appeared in 65gms and has a .911% with a 2.44ga

I think that's a pretty good back up goaltender signing, if thats the case.

This.

If signed the Blackhawks have a proven tandem that works and brought home a cup.

The problem/argument will be if he starts out slow or finishes 13-9-2 (from casual fans and some die-hards). You'll have morons questioning "what's wrong" after a unique/brilliant 2013 campaign. Not many backups in the history of the league had his kind of numbers/win%.

And certainly no one know better than Emery himself. I think he would be happy with just about anything as everyone knows that he may be limited and with old man hip, you cant bank on him for anything close to a full season. Hawks would be sitting with 2 proven goalies, one of which has put his time in for years to the organ-i-zation, the other fortunate enough to have a job and his name on the Cup with the rollercoaster that has been his career.

Let him have a 2 year or so. He wont demand much money at all. With Ray back, we can once again avoid goalie talk for another year.

If the Islanders, Philly, Tampa, Edmonton, etc.. etc.. still need a goalie come the trade deadline, maybe he can bring back an asset.

It's a good move if he signs since it gives the Blackhawks some options, but IMO, I don't care either way. If he can fit under the cap, go for it.

He wants to say, is the word, So I think its smart on both sides for his future, he plays another great season, and with the cap going up next year he will get even more money. Its a win/win on both sides.
