He's going to be our most consistent leadoff hitter no matter what.
Wait, consistent at what? His OBP is only .348 with a .320 AVG, so we know that he is relying heavily on the strength of his hits to get him on base. However, he has an astounding .369 BABIP, so when that number regresses to the mean and those hits start to get gobbled up by the defense, his OBP is going to plummet, and the Cubs will be left with .310-.320 OBP leadoff man. Consistent or not, that's not good.
ThisIt may not be good, but what other choice do they have?
Sure Castro has put up some sort of numbers, but you cant rush him into the leadoff spot...yet.

I think anyone who thinks our biggest problem is the fact that the guy who has had the most hits in the NL is our leadoff hitter needs to re-evaluate. Theriot's fine. Lee and Ramirez need to hit like they're paid to. Zambrano needs to pitch like he's paid to. We need a bullpen worth two damns. Fix all that shit first, then worry about Theriot's babip or whatever the hell we're bitching about.
/rant.
Do you ever have fun with a post Lefty? Or do you just crunch the numbers all day? lol
I don't think anyone ever said that Theriot is the "biggest problem" the Cubs have, or even alluded to something resembling that sentiment. If you're mad that the Cubs have a lot of problem areas, then just say that, but don't rant and attribute notions to people that never made them just because you think everyone should be in an uproar over what you think is REALLY wrong with the team. Moron.
