It may be just me but I rather dislike the whole jersey shirt thing

If you want something with a players name and number on it, buy the damn jersey

To be fair those use the retro logo (if talking about the Esposito shirt)... although I have always found the fake distressing to be a little silly.

I think the last Blackhawks thing I bought was a McFarlane Tony Esposito -but that was like 5 years ago. . . (would love to have Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita as well) no wait, it was a championship hat last year ... not too exciting.

I know this is irrational, but I don't like wearing someone's jersey. It just feels weird- especially off the ice.

I don't begrudge anyone doing it and it looks great on tv when everyone is wearing red Hawks jerseys in the crowd, but it's not for me.

I got a home Bobby Orr jersey.

Why Orr when he hardly played for us at all and made his bones in Boston? The dude never deposited or cashed a single Chicago paycheck because he said he didn't earn the money because he didn't play up to what we expected of him when we signed him. That's pimp. Couldn't say no to that sort of Billy Badass attitude.

Same goes for Baseball stuff, I think i first noticed the "Fake" jersey shirt concept begin with Cubs stuff, i would see the Fukudome and Theriot shirts and then they started to pop up everywhere.

I may be old school but if you want a players' name, get a jersey.:hitler:

I'm always afraid to get a jersey of a current player. You pick someone you think is untouchable (say Hossa with his uberlong contract) and they start talking about trading him.

I'm from Houston and have a closet full of Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt crap, for all the good that does me now...

That's funny. The only pro-hockey jersey I own is an Orr jersey I got as a gift a long time ago.

An Orr Hawks jersey though? Those shouldn't exist.

Someday maybe I will get one of the current 3rd jerseys ... with my own last name and the number 6 on it.

Seems to take care of problems with being traded... oh sure, you have to answer questions about why '6' - and well, when I played in my first league (Hockey North America there in Chicago)- playing LW ... hoping for either 20 or 9 or 28 ... etc... and the jerseys came in ... with randomly assigned numbers...

I got 6... 6 ..... you know I think Russ Courtnall wore 6 and played forward ... but no one else I knew of ... 6 ?! :p I still haven't recovered from that .... oh sure- rationalise it as an upside down 9 ... but yeah - I have been damaged by it...

That plus the only halfway decent player to wear 6 for the Hawks during my time watching them was Bob Murray ... so it isn't like it is 18, 35, 1, 3, 21, 9 -etc... so no one bugs me about it.

Still in all, I could eventually use a current alt jersey like that ... and they don't generally ship that sort of stuff to Australia... due to agreements with mfg's (also ends up making hockey gear in Oz expensive as all... )
