I watched a lot of Fox News this week. Here is how nearly every commercial break played out:

1. Ad-scooters designed to take you up and down stairs so you don't fall and break a hip.
2. Ad-Invest in Gold.
3. Ad-Fox News is #1 because of you!
4. Ad-Invest in Silver.
5. Ad-AARP.

So, what lead to investing in Silver?

I bought 1500 of it in 2011. Soon after It shot up to almost triple its price and then quickly fell back to earth and a little below what i bought it for and stayed there for years. Last few weeks it has slowly gained about $4 more per coin than what i paid

Silver is high, so I wouldn't do it. But that doesn't mean you wont make a return. I don't buy huge lots of PMs at a time, only a small amount as a hedge on savings/investment. Maybe 2-5% tops unless the PMs are ultra cheap.

Realistically out of the top precious metals, Silver is the one that is gaining the most value if I remember right and is becoming more scarce. Gold is still a good investment but its slowed down.
