With the obvious lack of talent in Hollywood, we all know they have been remaking many of the classics. Which imo, is a disgrace to many of the originals. I recently saw a list of movies being remade and Im left quite pissed regarding a few. Here is just a few scheduled for possible 2012/2013. Dune. Childs Play. Robocop. Scarface. Highlander. Short Circuit. Mortal Kombat. The Evil Dead. Carrie. Excalibur. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Tomb Raider. Total Recall. The Warriors.

I'd think with the advancements in technology and special effects, Robocop could be far better than the original. All of the rest, I have doubts about being better.

Ironically, after watching the 3 Robocop movies, I did wonder why no ones thought of remaking them with so much potential. However, when I saw a few on the list, I am disgusted. Scarface? REALLY? How the **** can anyone touch that? Carrie? Seriously? Then theres Dune. Original is a classic. Then they redid it some years back. Now they got to do it again? For Christs sake. The Warriors? Classic in its own right, leave it be. And TMNT, where I heard theyre fucking Aliens now.

Robocop is definitely a thumbs up imo. The Evil Dead, only if Bruce Campbell is back in it. Tomb Raider is a loss to me. What, did they find another Angelina Jolie with bigger tits or something? Theres also a new Fantastic 4 Reborn. When they had the cast set, they shouldnt have F'n scrapped it. There was other movies, some I dont know at all. Dont know the site personally, just what my search brought me. Upcoming Movie Remakes 2012, 2013 - List | Movie Moron

I don't see a problem with remakes of TMNT, Dune, Tomb Raider, and Highlander. Tomb Raider wasn't that good to begin with and I never could watch Dune all the way through because it was a poorly edited non-sensical mess.

I heard Bruce Campbell was doing Evil Dead so that would work.

You don't mess with Scarface. If they tried, I'm sure they would have a terrible acting rapper play Scarface and it would be horrible.

Short Circuit would become a G rated crap kids movie.

I can't imagine them making a better Robocop, but I would give it a chance if done right.

Total Recall is already finished. It's not yet rated, so you know they are trying edit it to get that PG-13 rating which always turns out bad for those types of movies.

The original Chucky doll and actor who did his voice is the only person I would accept. And he has done so many bad and worse sequels not even he could save Childs Play.

And I could care less about Mortal Kombat.

I also heard Stephen King's IT is being remade into two movies for theatrical release.

Judging from the comments, that list was made in 2009.

Off the top of my head, Excalibur was shelved indefinitely and Dune was dropped by Paramount, so it's shelved too for the foreseeable future.

Child's Play is being put together by the same people who made the original, and last I heard they wanted Brad Dourif back badly.

I'm sure Google searches about some of those will bring up some shelvings or cancellations or development issues. I just Googled Daredevil and found it just got a new writer and is getting a different story than what it was originally going to have.

I agree. Don't touch It. Nobody will be able to duplicate Tim Curry's performance. Unless Tim Curry himself does it.

Damn 2009? Crappy fucking mobile. Guy I work with told me about TMNT, so I was curious, didnt know that site was that outdated. Even so, the fact theres talk on a few is enough to  Especially when we know Hollywood is arrogant enough to do it. But the thing that gets me is their ideology that 'updating' a movie with better effects and new faces makes the movie better, when in truth, the eyecandy is nice at times, but the story which made it a classic is butchered. Many scripts shouldnt change.

Was maximum overdrive the movie where that green cloud covered the earth and all of the machines started to come to life?

Anyways i really dont have an issue with them making remakes, especially when it comes to action movies. If they suck, they suck. Doesnt make the originals any worse. If they want to make Adult Alien Ninja Turtles, go right ahead. The only thing i dont want hollywood touching is any John Hughes classic.
