Actually, it's 3. He mentions an overthrow, then trying the same play and having it go out of bounds. Then the nearly intercepted ball. None of those have any context behind them. Being watched from across the field by a guy I have never even heard of before. And even if they are all on Williams, it's 3 balls out of what 100?

Fields problem was NOT THROWING the ball over the middle. Williams having a few bad throws over the middle (if they were bad throws), is not the same as not throwing the ball. And on top of that, 1 practice vs 3 years. In a rookie minicamp playing with and against guys who will not even be on a 90 man roster. Guys who might barely be good enough to play in the UFL. I mean damn, you could have at least waited until the OTAs to find a couple random plays to cherry pick for your articles.
“Caleb Williams worked on his play action rollout with quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph. For the drill, Joseph would direct Williams where to throw while he was in the middle of his rollout. Williams misfired on one of the attempts. Joseph went over and talked to Williams and coached him on the mistake. On the next rep, Williams put the ball right where it needed to be.”

That is No. 4.

You are counting that? It's a positive because he was coached up.

Are you good at anything else? Wood shop? Cars? Arts and crafts? I wanna help you make some money. We gotta find you something you can have a career in besides what you currently are attempting.

Yes. I’m counting a missed throw as a missed throw regardless of whether a coach instructed him afterwards…

Everyone has missed throws. What matters is how frequent they are. And if they are learning from them. This would be an example of him learning from it. It would be the exact opposite of Fields NOT throwing over the middle over and over again. So not sure what your point is with any of this.

If he’s nearly throwing picks to guys that will be working at McDonalds in a few weeks, don’t you think he’ll have a harder time going against players who are actually NFL caliber players?
Sorry, but only TDs to future McDonald's employees was mentioned, not interceptions.

Couple things here and I will not even direct at the OP for the clickbate headline.

1. Williams is throwing TDs to guys that will be working at McDonalds in a few weeks.
2. Nice to see Williams throwing contested balls into windows over the middle that Fields would not even attempt to throw.
3. Overall, these practices with 90% non NFL players means absolutely nothing. Even the OTA's mean very little but at least they are with the actual players on your team.
Stupidest saying in all of football. Equally as stupid as saying "they should run to the podium if Player X is there".:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I agree, he should be cut immediately.

one concern might be that errant passes in the middle of the field can often end up being picked
The point made earlier is that those practice players may not be running routes as expected.

Gotta keep count of those almost picks.

Yup, there is just a lot of context that is missing. And it's fine because we are going to see and hear a lot about Williams during the next several months in mini camp, preseason and so on.

It's just that this guy is going to jump at the SLIGHTEST inkling of something not being perfect because he needs attention that bad.

But was he "really hard to watch"?

Jesus, what complete nonsense. Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and Peyton Mannig likely weren’t perfect on every single pass in rookie camp to guys who are wearing alien space helmets. Who gives a shit, really?

I remember when Jamar Chase couldn't catch during his rookie offseason.... It was all downhill for him from there.

What do we do now?

A lot of people who are curious on how Williams is progressing early in his career. And people who comment about the stories are a dead giveaway.
