Report: Depressed Rose shut self in after playoffs - chicagotribune.com

Yahoo Sports said Rose stayed home for almost a week, rarely leaving home and looking every bit the picture of depression. He returned to the gym for the first time Monday, honing his skills during the NBA lockout, Rose can look back and smirk -- through the lasting pain of the series loss.

"Being that close (to the NBA Finals), and not getting it hurt," Rose told Yahoo Sports. "I just stayed inside the whole time. I didn't go anywhere else. I wore pajamas, watched a lot of movies, drank Powerade and got delivery food. My body was just sore and wore out. Mentally, too.

"I'm just getting over it. … I know my time will (come) soon. That's how I think about it. I guess you have to pay your dues."

Rose criticized himself for not being in better shape to handle the rigorous postseason. He dominated the first two rounds, series wins over the Pacers and Hawks, but ankle, wrist and back strains slowed him down against the Heat. Beyond basic physical fatigue after the long season, Rose told Yahoo he's prepared for teams to copy the blueprint the Heat used in the series -- assigning 6-foot-8 forward LeBron James to defend him, which slowed his ability to penetrate and create easy jump shots for himself -- and will be ready to combat with bigger defenders.

Hopefully Rose realizes there are more important things in life than beating the Heat :bullbang:

Well I can feel with him. Nothing worse than working your ass off and come back home with empty hands!

I hope most Bulls fans in general would stop being so Miami Heat obsessed. They need to realise they're not the only team in the NBA.
What, the Bulls lost to the Miami Heat and he was depressed? :shot:

If he would have lost to the Celtics, I would have said the same thing, there are more important things in life than beating the Celtics.

More important things than beating the Heat? You blaspheme! Surely there is no other purpose in life! xD

But seriously, that will give him a ton of motivation for next season at least. DRose is going to be even more of a beast.

A lot of players go through situations like that. I heard Kobe was like that after losing a few times. Dirk was like that too after 2006. Jordan was like that every damn year until he finally won.

And remember, this is not just a game. This is their livelihood. I figured Rose would be depressed a bit after that playoff series. Now he has to get himself together. The difference between him and Jordan is that Jordan was waiting on his teammates to mature and ready themselves for the moment. Jordan was ready. Rose didn't seem ready for that moment. That might be what bothers him most.

One thing for sure, 2guard help will relieve most his pressures...The man carrys a heavy burden playing on a team where he has to do most everything by himself...He's the type that gets down on himself and takes the burden of blame when his team loses...If PaxGar doesn't get him some help, it will be a great injustice to his character....

lol so it was like 5 or 6 days and he left the house a few times and ate normal. that's nothing, what a non-story. to even compare it to depression is preposterous.

God there really is nothing to write about with bball right now.

In other news: Cats hate dogs, Farts usually smell bad, & saturated fat is bad for you.

You know those mornings that you just can't get out of bed and you'd call in sick if you had a job.
You know those mornings when you just wanna watch TV, eat corn chips and **********.

Sure you do.
