Carmelo can play with Rose, he played with Iverson just fine. He wants to win, he will make it work.

Well put. They were talking about it out here with regard to what Kobe had to say about Melo leaving the Knicks. Kobe said that he personally didn't want to be known as a scorer. He wanted to win championships. Everything is up to him and what he wants his legacy to be.

Stephen A said on 1st Take today that he hasn't heard anything about Melo to Chicago, though it could happen, but he's only been hearing LA  he's pretty knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff too.

You mean they took timeout to discuss their list of all time greatest QBs? That show is suppose to cover sports and they cover 3 or 4 story lines all year.

Anyway- I'm not surprised he hasn't heard anything on Melo to the Bulls because regardless of the Bulls having the most to offer New York via trade doesn't mean the Knicks would do it.

Hell- I'd be willing to bet the Knicks would rather let Melo walk for nothing instead of putting him in a Bulls uniform themselves.

Unless the Bulls can move Boozer for an expiring contract at the deadline in order for them to offer Melo a max contract in the off-season...he won't be a Bull.

So yeah, its been a while.

But then again, you did say he was pretty knowledgeable concerning that particular area. I can't disagree with you...

This doesn't surprise me. If NY media started saying Melo to Chicago that would mean that the deal is almost certainly done. You'd think the Knicks would rather send Melo to the West than to another team in the East as well so perhaps that's a factor. Another factor is NY using this kind of media as leverage to get more from the Bulls than what they've been offered. In any case, I won't bank on any Melo to Chicago reports until it actually happens.

If the Knicks were smart they would try to convince the Suns to take Melo for Okafor, Dragic and two of their three first rounders but I doubt they could convince him to sign and it would be an expensive ass loan. That would be the best possible trade for NY. I don't think they would get any better. I think they are going to take their chances and hope he re-signs. If he has NY handcuffed like he did with Denver, we will easily beat out LA. At least he will be closer to home plus Kobe for sure wont be the same player. Derrick may have had the ACL then the meniscus while Kobe had the Achillies and fractured knee but the difference is Kobe is old, Derrick has a better chance of recovering his game. Not to mention Los Angeles is over-rated. Beaches are dirty, the water is cold, traffic is awful, smog is bad, ect...I could go on for days on how much I hate Cali though.
