Just more Stan “activity”.

This trade doesn’t change the team’s trajectory and no matter what Stan does we are not going to compete for the next couple seasons anyway so my response is yet another <shrug>.

If anything, this trade plays into the tank so no complaint.

How would a team of ex hawks still active in the nhl playing against the current hawks fare?

I agree. It's gonna be painful for awhile.....slowly detioriate the talent level while you dump salary. And I don't think he's near being finished, at least I hope he's not.

Well...Kubalik and Kubalik 2.0 replace Saad, so Zadorov replaced Maata or Seabrook, and Lindholm is a poor man's Hammer type ingredient, Koo Koo replacment.

The Avs have a serious high level log jam at Defense, so I think this was venting a little pressure and I wonder what they wanted with Gilbert back?

I feel bad for him going into that system but ours was pretty loaded up in quality depth as well. We have 4 4's and 8 6's., Colorado has like a dozen 2's and 3's.

I like this trade.

Alot

Think the Av's will regret giving up Z. He needs to develop a bit on the cycle, but he pretty much can stop rushes by himself. He adds a different dimension the Hawks haven't had since Marchment, you gotta keep your head up when he's on the ice.

If the Hawks plans are bigger and tougher, then this is a good start. They really need another similar defenseman tho.

What I think, is the Hawks are gonna stack two scoring lines, a checking line, and a goon/energy/forecheck line.

Which means Strome is as good as gone unless he's willing to move to wing.

Kubi/Toews/Cat
Nylander/Dach/88
Carp/Kampf/Shaw
?/?/?

I like the third line more then the second only because of Nylander. But that's really not a playoff team.

Long story short, the Hawks should have blown it up a couple years ago. Just say "hey, we fucked up the cap, give us a couple years to fix this shit" and I'm 100% positive everyone would have been fine with it instead of the whole retool delusions.

I kinda like this trade. I think Zadorov will be a solid dman for the Hawks.

And best of luck for the manchild in Denver :)

Isn't he an FA after next year? Not sure he will even want to stay.

I have Zadorov on my NhL 20 squad paired with Boqvits for a plus 5 in chemistry, so there is that.

I do like the trade. Zadorov gives us a hammer on the back end. I’ll miss Saad but at 6m he was luxury we couldn’t afford. Still interested to see what Stan does. Still think like others here there are more trades coming down the pipe, or maybe a surprise FA signing at the forward position.

I don’t get the excitement for a salary dump. Just another move to correct a bad move from a few years ago. It’s what the video game gm does best. I will give my opinion on the trade if we offer an extension other wise it’s just a salary dump

Pious Suter is going to change things.

I went monkey over Kubalik, and the reason I am even more monkey here...is because its a left handed power forward.
Suter>Nylander...but also is a shoe-in for trials at the lottery spot across from 88. His communication with Kubi might make other combos tempting early.

but as the season goes on they will find their natural hockey homes

Shaw/Cat-Toews-Kubalik
Suter-Strome/Dach-Kane
Cat/Shaw-Dach/Strome-
Carp-Kampf-

I think where we got in trouble, was having the depth variety to solve those last two equations.

Nylander
Barrett
Hagel
Tiply
Highmore
Pirri
Morrison

Should all be given consideration at those final 2 spots. Jewels was a penalty machine so we can't have both him and Shaw.

I'll be shocked if Suter isn't on the left wing in the top 6, or 12...for sure. Because he is sturdy and his floor is as your 4th line left winger...I don't see any chance he doesn't earn at least 4LW because he is a poacher would look great in

Suter-Toews-Kuba

or
Suter-Carp-Kampf

if for some reason he isn't a strong enough finisher in top 6.

Suter is the 2LW of our dreams (Breadman or Ovechkin aside).

Avs/Rangers are going to be incredible dynasties to be chasing.
Kings will be back in 3-4 more years.
