I've never hated a sports team as much as I hate the Tigers. I didn't even hate the Twins this much when they were good.

Just an unlikeable team.

no worries. verlander is declining and scherzer will either be gone or will bury the tigers with a new contract. if they make the playoffs they will not win the WS.

On the bright side, they're in line for a protected first round pick.

Verlander maybe finding himself. Looked like an ace his past few outings. I don't care for the Tigers but with that rotation it's not hard to see them in the WS. There are multiple All-Stars in the lineup. The bullpen is atrocious but hard to go against that can throw Scherzer-Price-Verlander-Sanchez at you. I hope the Orioles make it out of the AL.

This really could be the Tigers last chance. They don't have much young talent coming up, and with the payroll they already have, it's hard to imagine them signing a top tier FA anytime soon.

Sanchez won't be pitching in the playoffs.

Because he's hurt?

He's been injured, that's why he won't be in the playoff rotation.

I still don't trust Verlander. Scherzer, and Price will be dominant. Porcello has regressed in the second half, who is the 4th spot? Lobstein, Ray?

Porcello at #4 is still better than anyone the Angels, Royals, or Orioles would put up at #4

I can't disagree because he's been Detroit's second best starter all year, but we'll see.

The only real thing Detroit has going for it is that the AL is kind of wide open, other than Anaheim, who they won't face in the first round anyway. Baltimore is too decimated by injuries, and suspensions to really do anything. I have no idea how to gauge Oakland because of the extreme good, and bad. Kansas City has that great bullpen, but they can't hit, but good rotation. Detroit has a good rotation, bad defence, meh bullpen, and they're terrible at defence.

In Anaheim after Weaver its kind of meh, Angels do hit well though, and they have a solid bullpen. So, they should be favourites, but anything can happen in October.

I'm also glad you stepped in Dabs' roll to come into the Sox forum and talk up the Tigers. ;)

I kid, of course; I like the conversation.

not really. the top 2 of scherzer and price than the soon to be closer verlanders arm has been falling off. porcello has come to reality that he is just a 4.

the bullpen is horrendous, miggy isnt mvp miggy, vmart has to carry slash line into playoffs.

the defense of detroit is another reason why they wont win the world series.

anything can happen i guess but the tigers can be had all day long. if they somehow got to the ws vs a team like the dodgers...it would be a quick ws.

Detroit probably beats up Baltimore.

Oakland, or LAA? I don't know, it'll be close.
