Recently he talked about this being the band's final big tour and that he was looking forward to spending a lot of time with his granddaughter. Poor guy never got to fulfill that wish.

Aw man. I really liked Tom Petty. Time to go listen to Full Moon Fever again.

CBs has retracted the report of his death. LAPD cannot confirm at this point.

One of the best live performers around for decades.

Second tier... funny. Not really but that speaks volumes.

RIP Tom Petty love your music. Performed live with Eddie Vedder, Stevie Nicks to name a couple. Him, Steve Winwood, Prince, and others tore the house down with a version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps at the Rock and Roll HOF honoring George Harrison, Prince was amazing in that performance.

Enjoyed some Petty with The Traveling Wilburys...Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne.
