Our friend Ron

Ron Santo has become an icon in the great sports town of Chicago that will be missed by tens of thousands. He made you feel like you were listening to the game with an old friend who made it o.k. to enjoy baseball like a kid again.

RIP

It's going to be way different listening to the Cubs on the radio now. I can remember driving and listening to them, and listening to Ronnie's voice. He was the happiest man on the earth when they were doing good. He was also so dipleased when they were doing bad.

I'm gonna miss you Ron!

I'm going to buy This Old Cub.

I still remember meeting Ron for the first time. It was at a Cubs game about 5 years ago. I skipped school to go with a friend. After the game we waited for some players to get Autograph's and Santo just drove right out. He stopped and gave a little kid a auto, he asked for a sharpie so I gave him mine. He then asked me to have something signed, so I had him sign the only thing on me, my hat.

One of the best moments in my life.

As much as he was a homer and had a somewhat shitty rep as a player, I still say RIP. he will be missed by cub fans.

his reputation is more than just a "little" showboating. as a player he was well known for this, hence why he isnt in the HOF.

I wouldn't necessarily say its that..

I'd say the thing that hurt him the most would be his consistent begging to be in it.. That's probably what did it.
