We have exercised his 5th year option, right?

I would hope that we can nail down a contract extension early in the off season next year.

He's been excellent for the Bears and has a bright future ahead of him.

I do wonder what the extension will look like. I'm not sure where the salary cap will be, but TV deals with increases have been signed and the league shares in sports gambling revenue, so it should be a steady increase there. IMHO he could be the highest paid linebacker that isn't a 3-4 edge rusher.

In non-covid years salary cap increments by roughly 5M per year. 2023 should be a bump (I would think) to pre-covid cap + 5M. Nothing to base that off of
