No offense Dustin but i hate bleacher report. They'll let any ass-wipe with internet access to write there.

With that being said Rondo is better right now because he can play defense and had the the wingspan and hands to be a more successful rebounder. He's got the team around him to put up better passing #s. But he has really improved his offense since the Bulls series a year ago. He's become quite the finisher at the rim and the shot has improved.

But Rose's offensive potential is far beyond Rondos and we'll see what he's capable on D w/ Thibs coaching up him. Also adding a low post presence and shooter should help Rose's passing #s. Lets see where Rose is when he's been in the league as long as Rondo has.

Its a great debate though. Nice topic!

I think Rondo is better right now, but Rose has only played two years. I think he'll end up being better than Rondo, but he's still developing as a player. Took Rondo 3 or 4 years to get his game to where it is now.

Rondo can get assists because he had people who can make shots. I can't count how many times, Rose passes out to an open shooter and he missed the basket. Also Rondo is a fuc**n baby.

Rose. He's the most athletically gifted PG in the league. His vertical is 3" better than John Wall's and he's faster than John Wall. Rose has a better mid range shot than Rond and is better at getting into the lane, and finishing at the basket. Rondo has higher assist numbers but when you look at the scorers Rondo plays with, its easy to see why. A lot of times when Rose passes it to someone, it doesnt end up in the basket. Thats not exactly his fault. Rondo is better defensively but part of that is the defensive make up of the team playing behind him. Rondo takes a lot of chances at steals because he knows his defense has his back. Meanwhile, Rose plays with good defensive players too but the scematics arent necessarily there AND Rose isnt exactly able to foul out as the primary scoring threat.

Rose is also way ahead of Rondo's game. Rondo can't make a jump shot for his life and hesitants to shoot, that's why he assists up.

C'mon man... ya gotta at least thinking about throwing assists and passing ability into the discussion Lol.

Rondo's intangibles on the statsheet go beyond what Rose does... I think that's fair to say.

What intngibles? Getting rebounds? When Kobe guards Rose he has to play way off of him because he's too scared of getting beat. Meanwhile, he's able to get on Rondo. Rose now has the mid range jumper that Rondo doesnt have.

Rondo is better at getting rebounds but beyond that, most everything else is a function of Rondo playing on a better team.

I gotta go with Rose just for the simple fact that Rondo was already placed on a good team. Like mentioned before Rondo assist numbers are higher than rose because Rondo's team hits their shots. Rose can take over a game by scoring if he has to while Rondo rarely scores. If Rose was a Celtic they wouldn't have to worry about Ray getting cold because Rose can and will score

Lex, you're being far from fair here. Rondo has a better assist:to ratio and about 2 more assists per game. He hustles and has a knack for the ball (rebound or in traffic or in transition). He's a much better defender than Rose and also is better at getting into passing lanes and getting steals. He defenitely reacts quicker than Rose. I think as of right now, Rondo has the more consistent 3-pt shot (but both aren't good in that department). Rose is probably the best midrange shooter in the game, and both are great penetrators (Rose being the better finisher around the rim).

I still say Rose is better, but most people say it's Rondo. And it's the vast majority too. I swear... idiots who vote on ESPN...

correction: I said Rose has about 2 less assists per game. It's actually 3.8 less (with 0.2 less turnovers).

Rose is definitely the better shooter in every aspect from Rondo. The thing is that Rose doesn't much much discipline with his 3 point shot. Rondo has huge hands, and is a pretty decent long-range shooter (considering). But by NBA point-guard standards... yeah... he's a sucky shooter.

Rose has room for growth and development; Rondo is at his height.

That's the main different. Though Rondo's FT shooting is particularly bad... it's hard to understand why anyone would want Rondo over Rose...

Sorry that not everyone has the same opinion as you. Didn't realize that having my own thoughts was really me just trying to get attention :dunno:

Are they really your thoughts? Because it doesnt seem that way. It seems like youre parroting what youve been told because Rondo played on the better team.
