You think how Peterson came back from that injury, in yet another different sport and situation, is the norm for every athlete and I'm the moron. Okay lol. Rosenbloom and the whole lot of the other bad Chicago sports writers 2 years ago were writing about how Thibs shouldn't be pushing Rose with the minutes he was or playing him in certain games because he was already playing with several different injuries with his back and ankle.

And now he's being soft or too careful compared to an entirely different situation in an entirely different sport. Like I said , writers gotta write. Gotta write about something, even if its really nothing. Which this all would've been if the Bulls/Rose simply handled it better.

Part of the rehab process is playing in games. Rose chose to ignore that advice, considered the season lost, and decided to sit this one out.

He shit all over his teammates, many of whom played with quite serious injuries.

**** him. After seeing what NHL players go through in the playoffs, Rose should be embarrassed to show up at the United Center.

Yup. PJ pretty much nails it. Espeically since the MEDICAL STAFF of the Bulls, who in NO WAY would risk their franchise player, cleared him to play 6 weeks before the playoffs started. Which would have given him plenty of time to get into game shape.

He is no TEAM player. He's a coward.

Such a horrible teammate that free agents are turning down higher offers to get a chance to play with him. You know, for a lot of people here that preach how they hate the media and their constant ways of turning a non-story into a story just to create a buzz, you guys really took the bait on this one. Not sure if it's just because it's basketball or what, but it's roundly seen as a complete non-story by everyone on the team and organization. For some people I'm sure the only thing good enough for them would've been if he had come back to play in the next game after he tore his ACL.

So instead let's come to conclusions like all injuries affect all the players the same way regardless of the sport, regardless of any other possible factor. None of that matters, Player X was able to come back in X amount of days, that sets the bar. Sound reasoning. The Chicago sports beat could use a few of you guys.

Which free agents are turning down higher offers to come to the Bulls? Dwight Howard? Ron Artest?

Sorry, but this is a story and the media would not be doing its job if it didn't report it.

Again, Rose's DOCTORS cleared him to play, as that's an important step in the recovery process.

He needed to be in game conditions to take the next step.

For whatever reason, Rose decided to ignore doctor's instructions. How you don't see this as news is beyond me

Mike freaking Dunleavy took "less money" to come to CHI?? LMAO

We all took the bait I suppose. Including several ex-athletes who all will tell you that part of rehab is getting back on the field of play. And even when he does, the knee is going to swell up at times, may even have a setback.

For some people, I guess, the best thing to do would be to retire....so he wouldn't hurt any part of his body again. Maybe he should borrow Rip Hamilton's visor. Maybe the NBA needs to make those mandatory as well.....

Right because every ex-athlete is so knowledgeable about everything, about what every player is going through. Like Tony Amonte. I'll go by what his actual teammates are saying about the guy, and especially Joakim Noah. If there was one guy who would actually come out and say something, it would've been him, and he's been fiercely on Rose's side during this whole stupid shit storm. These moron reporters are still counting on players that left the team this offseason to say something about Rose, it hasn't happened, it's not going to happen.

Gotta remember, ass clowns like Rosenbloom a couple years ago were writing about how Thibs and the Bulls should be more careful with Rose, about how he was a "warrior" for playing through his injuries. Now, because it makes for a "juicier" story, they flip flop on that. They all do the same shit. The only story in this was how sloppily the Bulls and Rose managed it. All they had to say was he was shut down. Even if he did come back, it wouldn't have been anything but a pleasant surprise at that point. They didn't, even when it was obvious he wasn't going to play, they left the door open a crack and that's all the media needs to blow shit wide open.

Then what's so wrong with the article?

What's wasn't factual? Where was anyone misquoted?

Rose cared so much about winning - he didn't think they could win this year, so he didn't play (even though he was medically cleared to play).

Ex-athletes that have been injured (some with the same injuries), were the ones that came out (as well as doctors) - and said that once cleared, playing in games is part of rehabilitation. You claim to be knowledgeable about the game without ever playing...and go on and on and on about what's safe and what's not - what's your expertise?

You use "ex fighters" that now oppose fighting as their knowledge/opinion is golden in your pussification arguments - but now when ex-athletes talk about rehab....they're full of shit.

They are not flip flopping on it. By sitting out month after month, Rose proved their initial writings wrong.

So then he never did any of that? None of that ever happened, he hadnt been already playing through injuries? Its just for what makes for a more talked about, more buzzworthy story. Don't know how we can sit here and recognize that when it happens in other topics, but not this. Which is why, when it comes to places like here, I think its a lot more of the hockey fan anti-basketball circle jerk that will never end.

So...a regular guy goes to work and gets hurt. Goes on short term disability. Has surgery, gets healthy...doctor clears him to go back to work. He should be able to say he's not ready yet, and he can continue to sit around and get paychecks. Yeah, that'll fly.

And what about the anti-hockey circle jerks that ***** about everything that's made the game what it is, claiming they need to be saved from themselves? Labeling it dark, dark days of the game?

Let's see how many more extremely flawed comparisons you can come up with. This was your best yet. Joe Schmo vs (in this case) a player with tens of millions of dollars worth of investment in him. Of course its going to be different and handled differently.

Right there really is no story. Writers gotta write. They have to make a story. You give someone like Rosenbloom an inch, he'll get an entire season's worth of columns out of it. Same thing with most any other sports writer. That's what they do. And what a lot of people here say they hate.

Wrong. The story is how he ignored his doctor's advice and chose to not play when he was capable to do so.

Which he did. It's a fact. So unless he offers another explanation, people will assume he's a coward.

I've never suffered an injury like Rose. I can't say what was going through his mind.

What I do know is that as RK already stated, Rose was physically cleared to play 6 weeks before playoffs.

Now, I'd give Rose the benefit of the doubt in those 6 weeks that he wanted to slowly get back into games. The problem is HE DIDN'T do that. He sat in a suit those entire 6 weeks instead of maybe taking a spot on the bench and playing scrub minutes or short sessions.

THEN in the playoffs, he sat on the bench in a suit AGAIN and watched his teammates win the first round and watch guys like Noah who was in serious pain play through a series against the Heat. As a teammate, I would be beyond pissed off if my star teammate has been cleared and practicing just sat and watched as I gave everything I had against a team I didn't stand a chance against.

Rose is a professional basketball player who is getting paid like the star talent he is. He didn't make any noticeable attempts to get on the court besides sitting out every game while other guys literally killed themselves to stay a float. That's a slap to your teammates and the organization you play for's face. That's an insult to the fans who pay very good money to watch you display your talents for 60 minutes a night.

There were a ton of different ways he could of gotten himself ready, or even tested his rehab. Rose didn't do those. Even if he dressed and sat on the bench, that would of been a much more team player move than what he was doing.

And remember Trev some of those "teammates" had been playing with some pretty serious issues the ENTIRE time.

Rose put himself above the team. More power to him but if I were a team mate, I'd have noted that down no question.

I can't see most of variables dribble but how anyone could even question this and then watch guys like Bergeron, Bickell, Handzus, Hossa, is a mystery, if not for trolling you all on.

I said that several times as well. I have carpel, I shouldn't have to type on my keyboard until I feel ready.

Unfortunately most of "us" don't have 50 million to sit back on and decide our "own" fate.
