Rosy stepped it up the series against the Wild, so his loss will be felt, even though he was a 5-6.
I think fans are spoiled that the Hawks have 2,7 and 4, and a serviceable 27. Rosy would probably be a second pair guy on the majority of NHL teams, and maybe a #2 on some teams that don't have the D depth.
Rundblad will probably be the go to #6 and log 10-12 minutes with Q overloading the top 4 with the major minutes. Depending on how the games go, Rundblad would probably get more time if there are leads of 3 goals or more, but I don't see the Ducks or Flames forechecking as fierce as the Wild did. Minnesota got prime chances to take leads and make this more than a 4 game series. If the puck didn't bounce on Suter last evening or if Craw didn't make timely saves this series goes 6, maybe 7 with the Hawks still pulling it out.

The Ducks and Flames rely on their big forwards/forechecking - and finishing their checks specifically....which is what makes the Runblad matchup even worse. He does not like to be hit....at all.

While many cried about Rozy...the fact is he was never scared to take a hit to make a play. While he was very slow of foot, he was good in corners, in front of the net, in heavy traffic where most physical battles take place. He'd stick his nose in there. Next round - either ANA or CAL...that's the style of play they will try to impose on the Hawks. Neither Runblad or Cumisky will be eager to get in there and compete like that.

Speaking of crying are your tear ducts dry yet from all the Rozy grieving you've been doing?

TCD > Rozy.

Should give him props though. I'm sure it's hard being older than your coaches and shit.

So...does this mean it's Timmo Time? You know...like Teuvo time, but Timmonen and...ok I'll go back to my noob corner now.

Timmo still only got 8 and a half minutes. Just about a minute more than Rosi did pre injury.

Ducks will be physical but not as fast as either first round opponents.

Hawks won't dominate the draws like they did this series. Runblad is going to struggle because unlike Rozy - he won't take a hit to make a play. He doesn't block shots as well and definitely doesn't have the compete level. Timonens minutes will probably increase. The Hawks forwards speed vs Ana slug defence will be the key to winning

I am not sure that the Ducks will be the team that they face. The Flames are going to come out with fire in their gut and aren't going to be easy to take down. What the Ducks do have is size and they love to hit people.

The Ducks also played in the easiest division this year (is, the strongest), and in the regs we beat them in the season series 2-1 with an 8-3 goal differental in favor. Not to mention the Ducks haven't had a playoff opponent with more than 100 points in the regs--both our opponents had that.

If anything, that series (assuming the Flamers don't end up winning in 6 or more) will be Well Rested vs. Battle Tested. I think it could go either way.

Bakc on topic: Rosie was trending up so this stings. Likley might be a career ender but was glad he was becoming useful--for once. Cumiskey/Runblad may be able to help with speed but the difference between the Nashville & Wild series was the team D showing up and not being a liability. Thus, I think any o for the incoming D-man needs to be superfluous. Q should be focusing on who plays best behind the red line.

I still think its one of the better Ducks teams in the last 6-7 years. Not sure how much that means but i dont think its a team one takes lightly if its the team the hawks play. Kesler and Toews have a good history of shutting each other down in the playoffs but i think getzlaf and toews is the match up so that will leave richards against kesler or kesler shadowing Kane which isnt that fun.

Ducks have the question mark on their defense and maybe some on their overall depth chart. That will probably be the difference maker. Andersson is a decent goalie...but may the Hawks test him well if it is indeed the Ducks.

If its the flames? Hawks could very well sweep again. Sorry i like the Flames but this is an over achieving run they are still on...they beat the Canucks for **** sakes..thats nothing to get all **** rubbing about.

i will say this like the asshole western conference fan that I am. Looks like it might be another case of the western conference final being the true cup final for the Hawks. I cant see the caps or tampa beating the Hawks..if the Hawks stay healthy. I could see either team beating the Ducks though in a long series.

Rozy is out the rest of the season. I'm sure some of you will celebrate.

Not a fan of celebrating any player's injury, no matter who they are. Especially one that could possibly end their career.

Rozi has been doing just fine this postseason. Blackhawks are actually asking a lot from him by playing him with Keith. Sure, he has one of the best Dmen out there as his partner, but he is also drawing some tougher competition than he would if he was playing the traditional #5/6 spot. He is prone to that boneheaded turnover, but most #6 type dmen are...he made some nice stretch passes, held the blueline well, and wasn't afraid to take a hit to make a play.

I haven't been a fan of having Keith/Seabrook split up and haven't been a fan of Keith/Rozi being together...but not the way I wanted to see the split up happen.

This should never happen.
