Carroll is hot garbage. He doesn't have a true position and the guy is a poor mans' Balkman. I don't see him getting playing time on the team. More importantly, if we get the 6th pick, our 16th pick will be requested by Wolves. I'm thinking we go Thabeet. It's a good chance the former Chicago Bull Kerr might be willing to trade Stoudemire here, being we have a lot of assets.

Wow, I would do this trade in a second and pick Thabeet or Harden to back up the 2 spot. Freeing up Kirk's money to me would be a positive and getting a young guy with little pressure to be great would be a great move.

If this trade happens, which I don't see happening, but say it does and we intend to use the pick, the likelyhood that we keep the other 2 are very slim in my opinion. Paxson and Gar aren't going to want to bring in 3 rookies next season, espicially after the strides we made later in the season with the aquisition 2 solid veterans.

I bet they'll slowly build around Rose making sure there are veterans like Miller and Salmons that will always be there throughout the years that can bring that savvy and smarts to the team that we sorely need.

I see us signing no more than 1 rookie for next season.

I'd be against using a top pick on a shooting guard, given that we already have such a good one and good fit (best young three point shooter ever; among league leaders in fastbreak points) already on the roster.

I think there is a big that we'd like available at six.

Griffin will go #1. Rubio most likely #2. Harden looks like a good bet to replace Sefolosha at #3. Kings probably aren't going big at #4, they have Kevin Martin at the wing, so I'd say Brandon Jennings. #5, Wizards could take either a shooting guard or a big. Guards would likely be DeRozan or Curry. So Jordan Hill or Thabeet probably go #5.

That'd leave us with the leftovers of Thabeet/Hill or Blair. I can't see us passing on Thabeet if he were to be there. He'd instantly improve our defense. I think he is a lock to be effective on the defensive side of the ball in the NBA. I think we'd take Hill over Blair because Hill seems to have more star potential than Blair.

I agree PO3, I'd much rather have a big man, especially Thabeet but I would take Hill too. #6 might be too early for Blair so if Thabeet is gone and Harden is there it might be a good idea to take such a talented player. We might be able to use him in a trade as well over the summer or on draft night. If Kirk is gone we would need a guard to back up Gordon and pick up a veteran PG to back up Rose. That would still leave us a little light up front but this draft it might be best to just take the best available no matter what position we are picking in.

If the move Kirk for Cardinal they need to throw something else in the deal. Kirk for Cardinal and Madsen? I bet they both look great in suits.

My question really revolves around why wouldn't we take a guard at 6? Especially someone like Harden or DeRozen? We will be moving our only insurance policy if we lose BG in the trade, got to have someone to play the 2 next year alongside Rose.

If they moved Kirk for the #6 I think they would try to move the pick with Tyrus and expirings for a veteran bigman but if they are unable to do that then certainly use the pick on Hill if he is there. The top 5 could be Griffin, Rubio, Harden, Holiday or Jennings, Thabeet.

2ndcitydiehard, we've got salmons to be the insurance policy.

if we go with harden/derozan then that's preparing for life without ben, and if we wanna resign ben we can't look like we're ready for him to leave

and i think that if we make this trade, toronto can't refuse three draft picks, tyrus and possibly salmons. we would be throwing away our insurance, but i think if we get bosh, it's much better than ben gordon insurance, we can just sign a veteran next year and be done with it.

There's rumors about Deng being gone so maybe thats what he meant. Harden going number 3 though and Derozan pretty solid stretch at number 6. I rather take Hill though he said that he measured at 6
