Re: Transformers 3 Being Filmed In The City

My cousin came across some of the movie being filmed a few weeks ago when he was in Chicago for some Godzilla convention. Yes you heard me right. I can only imagine the nerds that attended that.

we went that way home today after the Convention. Drove right by it down Dearborn. Decided to take it all the way to division and people watch on the way home.

We stayed at the Hotel Sax and we got to watch some of the sploshuns and such. It was neat to see. Odd to see a part of Chicago torn up like it was.

As someone who lives and works downtown, it is annoying as hell...

I stumbled across the set of Batman Begins a few years ago around State Street. Well chuffed I got a photo with one of the Gotham City police cars.

HAHAH I was just going to say this, my buddy lives right across the river from this next to the trump building and he's so pissed off at it. Where I used to work is directly next to all of this and my friend there isn't as pissed but said it's getting old.

Arent't they only doing this on the weekends and what I have witnessed is that they do it in very small areas meaning a few blocks at most for a scene. I would think the coolness of seeing a huge budget movie being made would make up for a few inconvienences.

Some awesome pics and video and movie updates here

Nope, and it gets old. Don't forget too all the work that goes into setting up and tearing down and TRANSFORMING the area into the set. it's not like they swoop in on sat and out by sunday one weekend. It's a bit of a long drawn out process. Get's cool, but then it's just another thing.

So THAT'S what those broken parts of a building came from! I saw them on the back of a flatbed as my dad and I were walking to Union Station from the convention and we were both thoroughly confused.
