I swear to fucking god if I hear one more person say he's doing good on faceoffs... 1. HE'S ONLY HAD 70 FUCKING FACEOFFS! Toews has 1169. Hell Pisani has 64... 2. He doesn't ever go against the other teams top faceoff people because he doesn't play much and isn't very good at them. So 3. He's only good at faceoffs becuase he's slightly better than the other teams worst person on faceoffs... and 4, if the only thing you can say good about a player is that he takes faceoffs well, and he's only had 70 all season than HE'S NOT A VERY GOOD PLAYER.

He's 1 for 4 on faceoffs when we are on the power play. When you absolutely need to win the draw, you don't. Even Strength he's 51% against shitty faceoff people such as himself.

Last year, 537 faceoffs, 52.7.

Year before 565 48.5%

If he was at 52.7% no one would even be talking about him.

You swore to God. I'm offended. Ban yourself.

Johnson won't be here after April so I really don't fucking care. Right now he doesn't bother me and there aren't many better solutions at the time. So again bla bla bla bla....

I'm hoping NEITHER of them are here next year! Just not sure Hossa can cut the cord.

I agree with you TCD. I'd take Kopecky at center over Johnson every day of the week.

All they have to do, is make sure he isn't taking Dzone faceoffs (which he doesnt) and change him on the fly.

However...I may take Johnson over Dowell...who has looked awful the last few weeks.

I pretty much agree with this also. Hit the nail on the head.

No body was good at faceoffs tonight. Worst part of the game.

Yah wasn't a pretty night in the faceoff circle for anyone I posted the numbers in the GDT...terrifying numbers to be honest.

Outside of that I did think Johnsons line looked decent tonight. Just not sure how much of that was Johnson and how much of that was Kopecky and Nashvilles inability to deal with fast skaters like Stalberg. But Johnson wasn't an issue that's for sure and he did play his role decently outside of faceoff numbers where he like the rest of the team sucked ass.

Bingo, noticably outhit as well.

Johnson noticeably busted his ass out there last night though. There was a point where he lost the D zone face off, went towards the blue line and blocked the shot, clearing the zone. Again he didn't hurt the team.

WHo gives a shit if they were out hit. They won. 3-0. I'd rather outscore someone than outhit someone.

Go be a Blues fan if you want hacks to go around running people.

Well in Tims defense we were out hit against Columbus the other day 48-17. Similar to last night.

That's not good when it happens frequently IMO. Last night was a close game. 3-0 does not look close but it was a lot closer than the score appears.

They can't be on the receiving end of a physical beating night in and night out. Either a key player will get injured ( Hammer last night ) or they will get worn out , especially in a playoff series.

As far as me being a Blues fan, kindly go **** yourself. I am a fan of only 2 teams: #1 Hawks, #2 Bruins.

When you get 2pts for out hitting a team...then it will matter.

Playoffs last year..

vs Phil

Gm 6- PHI - 27 - CHI - 19...Win

Gm 5- PHI - 45 - CHI - 35...Win

Gm 3- PHI - 37 - CHI - 35...Win

Gm 1- PHI - 40 - CHI - 37...Win

SJ -..all wins, by the way

Gm 4- SJ - 35 - CHI - 32

Gm 3- SJ - 38 - CHI - 31

Gm 2- SJ - 35 - CHI - 32

Gm 1- SJ - 30 - CHI - 32

VAN -

Gm 6 - Van - 18 - CHI - 24

Gm 4 - Van - 28 - CHI - 15

Gm 3 - Van - 40 - CHI - 21

Gm 2 - Van - 31 - CHI - 38

NASH -

Gm 6 - Nash - 30 - CHI - 10

Gm 5 - Nash - 30 - CHI - 19

Gm 4 - Nash - 28 - CHI - 18

Gm 2 - Nash - 28 - CHI - 32

So the Hawks were outhit in 12 of thier 16 playoff wins last year, on their way to winning the cup. Being physical isnt just hitting. Chances are, being a puck possesion team - they'll be outhit most of the time. They go to traffic areas, take hits to make plays and finish hits when the opportunity comes.
