TCD knows many boys under 20 into drugs and whoring

Its true...its true!!

I like saads beard and would like to rub my balls on it.

Saads doing some pretty impressive non saad like things this series. Actually scoring from the slot, driving the net hard, only seen one free skate around the perimeter, has been really good on the pk and has allowed Hossa to be freed up a bit more. The best part is its been consistent.

Cant believe i like the guy right now.

I read a couple of really dumb comments by a couple of hockey reporters about Saad's goal being a "fluke" like he just jabbed at the puck and got lucky. I think that is bull-crap. He shot the puck deliberately and to where he was intending it to go. The kid has a lot of talent yet to be tapped. When he matures a bit, he could be the next Hawks super-star.

Meh, even if it was lucky, the vast majority of hockey goals are lucky. That's why just throwing the puck at the net as many times as you can is usually a better strategy than drawing up a bunch of convoluted plays.

Please, Saad's goal was hockey? How about the flukey re-direct goals from Tampa?

Djmooreisfat got unbanned?

what is that nonsensical statement? Calling ex Chicago athletes fat now?

Well what if I said Tony Amonte is a fat and is just as much not a power forward as Saad.

Im the first to rip saad but there is no such thing as a fluke goal when one drives the net hard like saad did on that goal. Exactly why saad keeps needing to drive the net like that. Its a power forwards goal. Anyone claiming that was fluke has never played the game before...most hockey reporters or bloggers have never so thats that.

It wasn't a fluke goal, because Saad drove the net and didn't give up on the play. However, that was not a pretty backhand... It was him slapping at the rebound to get it on net, and he scored. Certainly not some Kane-esque top-shelf-thing-of-beauty backhand.

I like Saad, and I REALLY hope we keep him. But I know we, or another team who steals him due to our cap issues, will definitely overpay him. He's a $4 million player (mostly because of his linemates), and I could see some team with cap space throwing something around $6 mil at him.

The pretty backhand thing is sort of an inside joke because saad loves to go backhand..of how he loves to go backhand. I like the cut of your jib calling saad a 4 mill dollar player because thats exactly correct. Hawks will overpay he just isnt a lw that they can let go not a deep position for the hawks esp considering sharp is pretty much done.

People know my feelings on him so no need to go in deep. Again saad is at his best when he drives the net and goes to the boards. When he does it its a thing of beauty but he doesnt do it consistently enough. He needs to learn that this is his game. I have been impressed with him this series hes doing it right.

You are right. But what I am saying is that I believe Saad put it where he intended it to go and didn't just direct it to the goal in general. Sure most hockey goals involve a bit of luck but there is also a lot of skill by these guys in which they try to hit a spot and are incredibly accurate when they do that.

“The money’s going to come and go. But to win championships and play on a great team, that’s what it’s all about,” Saad said. "I’m looking forward to getting something done pretty quick.”

...

They’ve been great to me,” Saad said of the Blackhawks, who selected him in the second round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. “Obviously you play the game to win. This is where I want to be.”

...

“It’s not about the money,” said Saad. “We love playing the game, and to be in Chicago and be a part of a great team where we get along, it’s a great group of guys and we have a lot of fun. This is the goal, to get something done and be in Chicago.”

Nice quote by Hammer, too.

Niklas Hjalmarsson signed his current deal a year before his previous contract ran out and didn’t take that big of a raise to stay with the Blackhawks. At the time Hjalmarsson said, “maybe I could have gotten more [money] somewhere else but I make a lot of money.” The lure of the Blackhawks and the potential to win more here keeps players from testing a market that certainly would pay them more.
