No, it's the opening line from Apocalypse Now. I had a few drinks tonight so I feel rather silly.

One of the greatest soundtracks ever, and in case you guys didn't know, they just released (on tuesday) a new boxset of this movie in Blue Ray, but what makes it different is that not only does it have the full Heart of Darkness (greatest documentary about the making of a movie ever) But it has a full version of both, original and Redux. And 9 hours of extras. THey are claiming it is an instant must get. SOmeone I read even said if you don't have blue ray, this is the movie you buy it for.
See I seen redux I think. Is there a big difference between the two?
41 minutes.
Weirdest most fucked up movie ever made. I watched the whole movie and it felt like it was the twilight zone. So fucking weird.
In my opinion the most fucked up part is when they happen upon some fucking french aristocrats living in a goddamn mansion in the middle of the jungle. and charlie dont surf.
That part was bizarre. But the scene that really lost me. was the playmate scene, Where the guys are fondling the girls and the girls are just paying them no mind but one of them is freaking out about something.
I'm certainly not from that generation but the entire movie seemed to not be remotely in touch with reality. I mean sure fictional stuff is not reality but I just didn't find the movie believable.
To me that's the best thing about this movie, it's so fucking out there, yet still all so human, and almost anchored to the point where you think it really could be the reality.

The movie is based in the Vietnam era but it's a pretty decent retelling of Conrad's "Heart of Darkness." Which was equally bizarre and set in Africa.
The horror, the horror.
