My favorite teams
Sweet! Now let's shore up center Bowman the Younger!
@Real_ESPNLeBrun Pierre LeBrun
Hawks GM Stan Bowman met with Rick Curran, agent for Patrick Sharp, who is one year away from UFA. They agreed to talk again in a few weeks
Not sure where this goes, but:
Like I tried to explain on the O-boards, and was lamblasted by some nincomshit who though trading Sharp for prospects is a good idea (I don't know why I did--I guess I'm a masochist), Moving sharp for anyone hamstrings us NOW. There is no combination of people in our system , or who we could realistically sign, that can make up his game, production, and leadership. It would be like asking Kane, Toews, and Hossa to all get an extra 10 goals each. I don't see it happening realistically.
Thus, unless Sharp trade rumors include named like "Getzlaf" and "Eric Staal" (based on point and goal production), It's a hearty NO. And we could easily have Sharp for Getzlaf money.
So yeah, I'm in the Sign Sharpie ASAFP camp.
They had threads going on there last fall about dealing Kane due to his off ice troubles. If memory serves the threads came out the day after it was revealed that Kane missed a game due to a hangover from the night before. Sharp needs to stay - there's also the women factor involved in his marketing. My wife would be very upset if Sharp was dealt.
I added the Hawks Salary Cap information to IndianHeadNation which will be updated automatically. Here is the link.
You can also find it on the main page if you click the $ button next to our Facebook button.
You can sort each table according to position, with the totals at the bottom of each position. If you click the "UFA" or "RFA" tabs, it will give more information about their prior contracts. The little icon next to some of their names is their NTC and NMC information if you click them.
I've removed Dowell and Pisani considering it is highly unlikely that they will be retained.
If anyone has any better ideas for the cap page, let me know. I'll be adding contracts that do not count against the cap as well on another page (Players that have been sent down, EL deals, etc. etc.)
Capgeek doesn't prorate the contracts throughout the season though
Yeah that is true they do not prorate on a individual player basis it is done as a team total in their daily cap tracker. Your table is great as showing a quick picture but if you want to do some interactive things capgeek provides those features. That why I suggested a link...no big deal!
"If memory serves" that was something put out there by Deadspin. You believe that?
