If they can make Sale a 200 inning pitcher I think it's a success. Let him take all the lumps but learn this year to go the distance. Become the workhorse and allow the dominance to come along

Seems like a tall order to fill for a guy that's yet to pitch 100 innings in the big leagues. I think Sale has a lot of raw talent, and if he can add weight to that frame he's going to be legit. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to let him take his lumps early, he seems confident in embracing this opportunity. I'd definitely put an innings limit on him, but it sounds like the Sox aren't going to.

It would be nice, but an injury free season is very important as well

That's what's most important. Risking his health to reach 200 innings while not looking out for his future would be a huge mistake. I hope they take it slow with him because he could be a solid starter and key arm for this team for the future.

If they want to bring him along well, they make him the fifth starter and keep him in that spot in the rotation no matter what. That will ensure that he gets, overall, the least number of aggregate innings over the season. If he gets to 200, yay! If not, that's fine too, but he has to get his work in without killing his arm because the Sox as far as I could tell have never done anything to properly stretch him out before this season.

I agree. No need to rush him or overwork him, especially if the team isn't going to contend. Ease him into the rotation and let him get the feel of being a starter in the majors. With him and Danks going forward, that could be a solid 1-2 punch if Sale lives up to expectations.
