According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, several league executives believe the Bulls are a sleeper for Dwight Howard via trade.

"Chicago may tell Orlando to take any two players -- or three -- besides [Derrick] Rose," one GM said, according to Wojnarowski.

He also added this: "The Bulls have Omer Asik developing fast as a potential replacement for Joakim Noah should the Bulls include Noah in a package. Noah would have to be a part of it, but would a combination of Noah and Luol Deng or Carlos Boozer -- bringing back Howard and one of those bad Orlando contracts -- be enough? The Magic need a force to replace Howard, an anchor."

Wojnarowski does note Howard "isn't keen on the cold weather" and there have been previous reports over the summer that Howard didn't have the Bulls high atop his list -- so he still may be more likely to head to the Nets, Lakers or another suitor.

Still, the Bulls would be able to put together a decent package of players for Howard should he ever warm up to the Windy City.

I knew he wanted to go to a warm weather state but why the Nets then??

I'll say the same thing about Howard that i said about LeBron, Wade and Bosh. Now of course this is assuming Orlando would make a trade.... If winning is at the top of Howards list then you sign with the Bulls. If not? **** YOU!

I didnt read the article but i assume we'd be getting Hedo as well? i doubt they would take Deng and Noahs contracts on top of keeping Hedos and most likely have him coming off of the bench. i think this is the last year of his contract.

But if you have the chance to get Howard for Deng, Noah and Gibson, you do it and dont think twice. IDK what kind of cap space we'd be looking at with Rose, Howard, Boozer and Hedo. AC Korver and you might have some nice room to get yourself a J-Rich and another vet. Maybe you dont get far this year with a gutted roster but when Hedos off the books you can get the pieces in place.

Well i remember hearing Heat and Knick fans give ridiculous reasons why hed sign with them and i bashed them all. I truly felt like Chicago was the best option, which i still think it is/was. Ive been wrong before.

But nothing is dumber than Knick fans saying he'll go to NY because he loves the hip hop culture. :rolling:

I honestly doubt that its Howard's #1 priority to go somewhere warm. He very likely could have thrown that out in jest (like he does with some many other things) & it was taken as a motivating factor for the biggest decision of his life next year.

Anytime said it, if he wants to win, he comes here. And it would be Addidas's ultimate wet dream to have their 2 star spokesmen playing on the same team, & (possibly) winning a championship together. Unfortunately, I have the sinking feeling he will be donning yellow & purple on his next team. :(

You make a good point. Dont forget either fellas that Lebron also supposedly didnt have Miami high on his list and look what happened there. The thing is i honestly thinks he likes Chicago because of the Market and Drose as his running mate.
