Not at all...

And point being, he always gets the other teams top matchups - and has always been able to produce

In his first 2 playoff years (39gms)....he has 14g/28a. And out of those...on the PP he had 10g/11a

So the vast majority of his goal production (50% of his total points) has been on the PP

Toews had a goal last night, it was just waived off.

Again Toews has had a curtain draped over his back all playoff long. And for this series the curtains name is Zdeno Chara. I get what you are saying though, he needs to find a way to fight through it. But even if he doesn't, that should give space for someone like Saad to make something of it. Saad, IMO has been disappointing the entire playoffs, but you can't bench him (over Stalberg) since he plays on special teams.

I liked the lines the way they were against the Kings. I hope he goes back to that so I can stop cringing when Bollig is on the ice.

For the record, I like Bollig. He's a character guy, awesome with media, and I think he helps the locker room. But those are things I prefer him doing from the pressbox until he can gain more NHL experience.

Hossa eventually poked that in.

I don't get why Q, who constantly changes things up, didn't last night when they started getting flat.

Also I think Bollig adds nothing and while Stalberg hasn't either, that's not to say he won't. Would be nice if Toews would report to the Playoffs, I'm still waiting for him.

I knew once they waived the goal off it was coming to bite us in the ass. Should have been up 4-0 at that point.

Can't understand what really happened after that as Boston then took most of the game over.

Go get em tomorrow night. Luckily the Hawks are the best road team in the NHL.

Anyone saying they were going to sweep this Bruins team was whacked. I'll still stick with my original at 6. I hope not another 7th as I'm not sure my ticker can handle that.

I didn't get the waived goal either. Thats 3 pretty big goals in the playoffs so far, no bueno. Only getting 1 in the first after dominating...I kind of thought was going to bite the Hawks in the ass

Boston is very good at blocking shots...some of those have to start finding their way through. The longer the series go, the more it benefits the Hawks.

While everyone loves home ice, some times playing on the road is easier. You feel less pressure and more "us against 20,000" mentality.

I'd go back to:

Bickell-Toews-Kane

Sharp-Zeus-Hossa

Saad-Shaw-Stalberg

Kruger-Bolly-Frolik

The disallowed goal is third one against the Hawks this playoffs (and the quick whistle was by a ref doing his first Cup Final). I know the Hawks need to move on, but we go up 2-0 in the 1st, this might have turned out differently. It was also a great play by Toews and Saad should have had his 2nd Cup goal.

I completely agree with this. Lines, luck, all of it. +1 from me.

Watching the replay of game 2 I can't for the life of me figure out how Toews goal is disallowed in the first period.

McCauley isn't close to putting the whistle to his mouth to stop play. He is in perfect position behind the net.

So not only does he blow the call then Mike Murphy (video reviewer) trumps his bad call with a worse video review decision of no goal.

If you're not going to use the technology and you are more worried about pissing off a team by over turning a call then **** It get rid of the technology. The officiating in these playoffs has been a disgrace and reminds me of the 1980's and 1990's.

Of course the same cast of characters get all the late round games due to seniority (earned it my ass right Walkom).

They need to get rid of this "intent to blow" excuse. Really lame.

Craig Simpson on the HNIC telecast made that point exactly.

You know, if I played against a team that blocked shots like the Bruins, EVERY SINGLE SHOT would be aimed right at their fucking laces. You want to get in front of my slap shots? Get ready to get your ankle broken. At some point SOMETHING has to give with the shot blocking, Being a nice guy and keeping the puck down, or shooting right into their shin pads, is chicken shit. If that's me, and I'm playing professional hockey for the fucking Stanley Cup, every shot I take is either right at their laces(zero protection), or HIGH AND HARD. We'll see how many guys want to block shots when it's hitting them in the chest or breaking their ankles. You want to "pay the price" then you can ACTUALLY pay the price instead of taking harmless shots off the shin pads. Start HURTING guys with those shots and they won't be so fucking eager to get in front of them. How many guys want to get in front of Weber or Chara? That's the kind of fear you need to put into shot blockers. Hell, even in men's league, if a guy comes out more than once or twice to block my shot....I fire that fucking thing with zero regard for who is in front of it.

I think know there's a plastic guard/shield that most Dmen wear over the laces, isn't there?

I thought I remember seeing Hjarllmarsson wearing it...."skate fenders" - visors for the skates

Only a handful of guys wear them. Most of those guys are back on defense. I hardly see anyone with them, and definitely no forwards. Most of those shots being blocked are being blocked by forwards at the point.

Kevlar socks as well. Although I think only a few Hawks wear them.

A kevlar sock isn't going to keep your ankle from getting broken. The socks are well above the skate laces. The only thing to protect your ankles along the laces is those skate visors. Those kevlar socks are to prevent skates from cutting you. Nothing more.
