According to Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com, the White Sox have acquired Kyle Cofield in a trade from the Braves.
Sounds like a minor move designed to clear a spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster. Cofield, 24 in January, turned in a 4.39 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 55 1/3 innings this past season at the Double-A level and has not yet reached Triple-A ball. He projects as nothing more than a middle reliever.

Scott Linebrink GONE!

The White Sox have traded Linebrink to the Braves for Kyle Cofield. I like the trade for the Sox. Linebrink was deadweight and making too much (5.5M). If the Sox, don't have to give money in the deal, it's a steal for the White Sox. Now the Sox can use the 5.5M for Paulie.

His stats in the minors are OK. He's probably nothing more than a regular RP. No closer, no set-up, maybe ling relief. The good think he's still young and was/is playing for Double A.

Very true. But I wonder if they're willing to just go "all in" from here on out. The Sox have a pretty solid team so far, so signing Konerko and a few small pieces really makes them a good team.
