How is the 2% of those abusing the system calculated? Is that the people they catch? I mean I thought the whole point of abusing the system was to not get caught? So how do they calculate who is abusing the system if they don't know who is abusing the system? And if they do know who is abusing the system.... well I would hope the rest shouldn't have to be said.

Is this abusing the system or just an unfortunate family that needs some help.

That is just someone who was stupid. She had 15 kids. Close your legs whore. This is a perfect case of she made the mistakes and taxpayers pay for them.

It is one thing to help someone that is doing everything in their powers to make ends meet and just can't get it done, those people I don't mind helping. But it is a whole different beast when someone is irresponsible and then looks to the government to take care of them. Those people I don't want to see one fucking cent of taxpayer money.

And how often do they check? How many are in the agency that checks these things?

Go to any grocery store and you can see it constantly.

Well what they should do is once your receive some type of govt benefit (AKA "handout to lazy bum or bumette") your behavior should be under permanent scrutiny.

My jaw dropped when she said "Someone needs to be held accountable for all these children". LOOK IN THE FUCKING MIRROR. You popped out all those kids not anyone else.

Im all for the government taking the kids. I dont blame them, they should not suffer for their irresponsible mother. Im fine with my tax dollars going to support those kids, they are kids they cant take care of themselves, But I dont want their ***** of a mother getting a free ride so she can teach her children to be just as shitty as her.

I'll go ahead and ask........where are all the "dads" in this scenario and why aren't they paying? I know the main sperm donor who fathered 10 of the kids is in jail (for what I wonder) so he can't pay, but what about the other men? Why do they get off scott free?

They probably dont have a job in which to pay? My brothers just as shitty as any of these kids fathers, so I know what this kind of trash is like up close and person. My brothers first wife is just as bad as this *****, living on the taxpayers dime with 4 kids by 2 different dads neither of which are around or able to contribute money. Shes a fatass tub of lard on disability for being fat collecting money on her children and disability and now shes living with another man (and not reporting it, so she still gets all of her "benefits"). Although I dont know who the **** would have her grimmace looking ass.

Exactly. Stop the abuse and then you'd have MORE to give to people that truly need it.

Not to long ago, people used to feel shame taking a handout. Now I guess it's shameful to work and question what your taxes are being used for.

You forgot to mention to frown upon those that are successful and then demand that they do more others.

Im 100% for a welfare system, but it needs to be completely reformed. Im a dem, get pissed when people use foodstamsp cards for fountain drinks at gas stations and other jumk. I love how the state WIC programs work for poor expectant mothers or poor mothers with infants. The program is very specific on what they can buy. For example...milk, juice, cereal, cheese (not from the deli), baby formula, baby food, fruits, vegetables, etc... No junk food, no steaks, no soda. Would not have a problem at all if foodstamps are run that way. Unfortunately, states have appealed to the federal government (when controlled by dems and repubs) to grant them control in order to run foodstamp programs differently, only to be denied.

But to say that our entire welfare system needs to get rid of is dangerous. Like it or not, it keeps money pumping into businesses and without it, our economy will take a hit.

All parts of the system our abused. Some poor take advantage of the welfare system, there are those on wall street that take advantage of loopholes, some farmers take advantage of farm subsidies, i know landlords who converted basements in buildings into apartments that they keep off the books. Let's just not focus the lower class. A lot of people on welfare actually have jobs, even two, and are hard workers. They just have jobs that pay minimum wage and not enough to keep them off welfare.

I think pretty much everyone agrees with this. I didn't go back to read everything over again, but I don't think I saw anyone who said we should do away with welfare and food stamps altogether. Food stamps for essentials and not junk..........welfare for neccessities not cable tv, internet, netflix, iphones etc.
