They cancelled two basketball games at University of Miami(Ohio) over a potentially infected student.

Talk about panic. Even if the Chinese are correct that it can transmit before symptoms they would still have a week before this measure did anything at all, and a few weeks before it became necessary due to numbers of affected. Probably 4-6 weeks even at the epicenter of an outbreak.

Looks like Ohio will be ground zero for American infection though.

You aren't understanding the potential exponential nature of this outbreak. You can be talking about 3500 infected today, and 300,000 in a few weeks.

But as I mentioned, they had a good grasp on early transmitters and origin, they got on top of this faster than any disease in history and the infectious disease community had their reasons for concern and emergency speed.

I'll take their word for it.

And its 6000 confirmed cases, which means alot more unconfirmed...and notice its a zero getting added about every 5-7 days.
