When Sunday comes around for us again. Our be loved Bear secondary will not be eye balling another third string QB. They will be facing one of the best to step on the field over the last decade. Now the receives that will line up avaunt the secondary is not to home to mom about. Yet Brady manages to put up monster numbers week in and week out. His TD to pick ratio is amazing. He does not make mistakes.

I feel our DBs can go man up with New England. The emerging TIght Ends can run down the field our safeties must be aware of then. I say the safeties due to the fact that I believe we will need to blitz Brady to keep him uncomfortable leaving a safety on the Tight end. With the way are DBs and safeties fly around out there we should get at least two turnovers. If that happens and we do not allow 300yrds passing Bears winning the game against the Patriots is very possible. GO BEARS

Very possible, and our safeties will definitely need to step up, it's there chance to show the league that our entire defense is for real. Our linebacking core need can handle the tight ends, we need to worry about Brady nickle and diming down the field. They won't be able to go deep on us.

This is a bad idea, the reason we run a lot of softer coverage and give up the underneath routes is because we do not have players in our secondary that can play tight man coverage. Our strength is limiting the big plays down field and contain the yards after the catch. No offense to Tim Jennings or Charles Tillman but they do not posses the bump and run skills the elite cornerbacks in the NFL do, but they are both smart players and our defense is setup around their strengths. We should not change our defensive philosophy now.

This
A Cover 2 defense isn't meant for their CBs to play man coverage. They're supposed to keep the play in front of them and prevent the big play. That worked to a T against the Eagles, and I can see the same happening against the Patriots. One thing that people aren't bringing up, New England has the 32nd ranked pass defense in the league, so they're actually worse than the Bears in coverage.

Im more concerned about our front four getting pressure on Brady. theyve given up only 17 sacks on the season. Our guys can only cover for so long. We need to pressure him into making throws, we need some TOs!

But USC makes a great point about the Pats pass defense. I guess you could say they are skewed because of playing prevent late in games and giving up garbage yardage. But the pats give up the second highest pass completion%, an average of 87.3 passer rating to opposing QBs and are 23rd in yard per pass attempt. The Bears on the other hand give up the least in yards per attempt, 2nd lowest passer rating, middle of the pack completion %. Oh and the Bears have given up the 2nd least passing TDs in the NFL(9) to the Pats 23rd ranked 21 TDs.

I like our offense vs their defense than the other way around. I actually think the Eagles were the most complete offense we've faced. Duel threat QB and RB, explosive WRs and good TE.
