so i've been tearing up the basement tile and seem to have located two small areas around the base of my foundation where a little water gets in. HBK, or anyone, do you know of a DIY quick fix for this?

You could use a product called shercrete which will seal it up or you can use like a drylock product if their is some existing material behind it.

Is the water coming in from the floor or walls?

Yeah, there are sealant products for micro-fractures and such that occur in foundation/basement concrete. Just go harass your local Home Depot lemming, they'll find you the shit.

Ever get women that can't make up their mind on paint color and you say: "make up your mind, *****"

I have women who will come in here, look at colors for 2 hours. Ask me to help, tell me I have to pick for them. I've had one customer start crying because she couldn't decide.

We'll get some that buy like 20 sample quarts over a week time and still can't decide.

need to find where the waters coming in and dig down to the footer and water proof the wall there with black mambi also u may want to check into putting a French drain around it as well if there isn't one in place.
if there is a French drain there make sure its not clogged

if you don't do the things I said overtime that problem will get worse and worse could take 5 years or 20 but eventually that will turn into a very serious problem

Years ago, I was at a car dealership waiting for my car to get fixed, and this good looking older woman came in. When she walked in, a salesman told her that her boyfriend (sugar daddy) had bought a brand new Range Rover for her, and all she had to do was pick a color. She was walking around the showroom and got excited when she saw an emerald green color model. She exclaimed out loud, "OMG that's the one! It matches my eyes!!" The salesman and I made eye contact when she did this and I just shook my head and we grinned at each other. Lol

This is right... Is your home valuable?... Are you staying there?... My old man had the same type problem... had them dig in a new area below wall level for drain and additional pump... no more problem... was not cheap but 20 years and no more issues... worth it in long run

Those guys are correct, you can't stop water, you have to manage it.

One of my friends runs the Sherwin Williams major paint store in NJ, the old ConLux plant that SHW took over. You know any of the people over there?

you could take a chisel and hammer out the areas its leaking and take some concrete and reseal the crack but those are just temporary fixes if u don't do the stuff I said before the problem will always come back.

one thing u could do to alleviate some of the water flow next to your foundation is hook a longer drain to your gutters like dig a trench about 8 inches wide and about a foot deep at the start down to 2 feet at the end go somewhere around 10 feet out from the house at your downspouts on your gutters make the first 4 feet solid pipe that's hooked to the downspot then use drainage pipe the rest of the way put gravel around it then bury it back over with dirt

you may even want to make a bigger hole at the end about 3 feet wide and say 4 or 5 feet deep to have the pipe drain into fill that with gravel all but the last foot u cover that with dirt and reseed yer grass

that will get a lot of the water that tends to just drain down beside your house from the roof out away from the foundation

I actually had the same problem when I lived in Chicago and fixed it successfully..It was a lot of work too!!.. But considering who the OP is, IMO,he can use his basement as a swimming pool..
