I actually had the same problem when I lived in Chicago and fixed it successfully..It was a lot of work too!!.. But considering who the OP is, IMO,he can use his basement as a swimming pool..

I laughed so hard from this i fell off my dinosaur.

Sometimes the seepage can be caused by clogged gutters or the down spout is not positioned properly. I had a house that was under a couple of big trees that would always clog the gutters, if I kept the gutters clear I was fine but if they would clog and then rain, seepage every time. I finally got tired of cleaning the gutters and got gutter guards. Duh, would have saved myself a lot of trouble if I did that right away.

so i've been tearing up the basement tile and seem to have located two small areas around the base of my foundation where a little water gets in. HBK, or anyone, do you know of a DIY quick fix for this?

Move back to Brookfield, problem solved.

OK..Here is a positive tip...Find where the water is entering your basement. Then get a drill and drill 6 holes all around the entrance spot so the water can drain out
