i have to agree with lefty here

i think at this point it'd be a pain to trade lee and lilly with their respective contracts

esp. because unless they start performing better they don't have great value and the cubs may be better off releasing them after the season or just keeping them for the long haul and hope they start performing better

I think Lee will be hard but I'm not so sure with Lilly.

So no then. But teams need SP and there won't be a lot so I think he will be traded but JH could find a way to mess that up. The Cubs 15 games back, I think we can still make it and he trades no one.

You're not getting rid of Lilly without having to pay most of what's left on his contract, something ownership won't be too keen on. And why are you going to just start trading your arb-eligible players away? If the goal is to cut down on payroll and build for the future, you would want to hold on to these guys.
