I noticed Zach Duke in the pen, and wonder if that has any future. That guy in my opinion had the 4th most talent of any pitcher we now have on big league roster, maybe better than that. (Sale, Shark, Quintana) probably Sale, Shark, Rodon, Duke

Will his velocity ever return? He injured something after a promising start in Pitt is that correct? Should still be a younger guy, perhaps he can learn to pitch?

Danks has just killed me for 3 years. I don't get it, I don't get why we try. At his best when rolling he is an average player who can give you some mediocre innings. He will never be Buehrle

There is a reason Duke hasn't been a starter. The only reason he had success last season was due to the fact that he changed up his arm slot.

elaborate please. did he go to 3/4 or was he lacking movement? Is he not the Buc who used to throw 100?

Danks just has a dead arm... no movement or velocity to speak of. The Sox should think about moving him to pen when Rodon comes up.

Danks probably would've been traded by now if he wasn't owed a shit load of money.

Just an awful contract he was handed.

He was terrible as a starter.

Became a reliever, pretty terrible in that roll too until last season when he changed up his delivery.

Not hard to follow.

The injury is what made him bad

If not making anymore moves for pitching, I would be ok with this rotation...

Sale
Shark
Quintana
Danks
Johnson

I hate Danks and Johnson is a big unknown. I hope that they give the throw-in on the Shark deal a chance. From what I have read, he has great stuff.

il roll the dice in the 5 spot with noesi. 2nd, danks could very well be the wild card if his velocity goes up. he has to hit his spots now and get the fastball in the low 90s consistently so he can use his change. he doesnt need to overpower guys

also you may see another move for a SP. just a hunch

The biggest weakness that Danks has is lack of significant differences in speed with his pitches. He never had big velocity. It was decent but nothing special. The other thing is that in addition to not changing speeds, he doesn't have very good movement on his pitches. The only real thing that Danks has is decent control and if he is pretty pin-point on a given day, he will have a chance to win.

He is what he is, an end of the rotation guy for a bad team or a left handed middle of the bull-pen guy. He makes more money than he is worth and hopefully they can find a team that is desperate sometime, they can dump him.
