The Lockout gave me a lots of time to consider what was important to me at this stage of my life and career. Over the last week, I've played out every scenario in my head over and over. It always came back to one thing for me: a winning role. I am appreciative of all the kind words and recruiting pitches over the last week, thank you!!

This was a exciting process and after much deliberation, I would like to quote the great poet Jimmy Buffett and take my chances "Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season"

Whatever. Let Miami win watered down championships. They'll never be a true dynasty or credible franchise. I'm not speaking to any of my Heat fan friends for 15 years....I need to find some friends

While I agree with you in today's sense, the Miami Heat today are no different from the Boston Celtics or Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980's. Each had 3 All-Stars, and several really great role players.

It's not about having 3 all stars. It's about blowing up your team years in advance for the biggest FA period the NBA has ever seen. Having these all-stars secretly plan this whole thing with Pat Riley years in advance. It's about having all of these franchise players(and Bosh is a franchise player)all declining max contracts to play together and then everyone else is taking less.

I wouldn't want that on the Bulls. The NBA hasn't had parity in years and it's getting worse. I'm all for your franchise player like a Tim Duncan take less and say get some more pieces. But a whole team? It's not fair to the rest of the league. There's gotta be some kind of limitations here. The NBA is a fn joke.

People wondered by the Heat put questionable pieces around wade the past few years and why they didn't trade Beasley to the Suns for Amare. The plan was in place all along and it's obvious. Can't believe they got away with this.

Well there is no hardcore proof that this was planned years in advance other than heresay, and the NBA can't act upon it. Otherwise the Heat played within the rules. I'm not saying its right, and I'm not saying I'm for it. Because I certainly am against what happened and wish to prevent such a thing from happening ever again. I also wished for a hardcap in hope that Miami would be forced to trade Chris Bosh (Though the Bulls would get screwed with a hardcap aas well).

I thought part of the new CBA would be to immediately eliminate the potential to create teams like this. Stern talks about how he wants parity in the league, but in reality, I do not think he does. He enjoys seeing teams stacked like the Heat, Lakers, Celtics, Knicks. The Bulls would also fall into that cateogory, but we actually tried to construct a team the conventional way. Its simply just about the money and the fact is the biggest markets make the most money. If the NBA had the popularity of the NFL where it doesnt entirely matter what team goes where, they could be in a better position to make rules that allow for such parity as the NFL does.

Another flip side is Stern wants to allow other teams to potentially create a nemesis to Miami by still allowing other teams to create such teams (Such as the rumors flying out that the Lakers want Howard and Paul, or Paul simply going to the Knicks).

I know there's no proof to it all but deep down I know that's how it went down. It all makes so much sense. And in the process of it all, the Heat delayed Other teams from getting players, people either got hired or fired bc of a false hope that they had a chance at signing these guys. Players and their families relocated through trades bc of this false hope. Again, no proof but I know it's reality. It's the worst thing that's ever happened in professional sports on so many levels.

I was hoping for a hard cap, even if it hurts us. It's how it should be in every sport. Stern is a fn clown and the NBA lost all credibility years ago withthe Tim Donahe(sp) reffing scandals and the league turning soft. I have no doubt in my mind that that the Bulls have Rose because Stern wanted the Bulls to be back. I called it before the lotto even happened. The NBA might as well have 12 teams with nothing but stars.

I think the league could lose 6 teams and be okay.

Those six for me would be:

Clippers
Wolves
Wizards
Kings
Raptors
Bobcats

They should look at attendance records for teams with Poor seasons and eliminate the fair weather franchises. Bye bye Heat!

Yes, I'll agree on that standpoint too. However Stern also wanted the free agent circus to create the excitement. What were the ratings for ESPN's "The Decision"? How much exposure did the NBA get because of it all? In the end it pissed off 99% of NBA fans, but did the NBA not have its best season as a result of what happened? Did people not watch games simply to hope the Miami Heat fail? Its a great succeess from a financial standpoint, which is all Stern cares about.

Also, I'd be for the NBA eliminating a few franchises that aren't very popular and will never get much national attention such as the T'Wolves, Nuggets, Pacers, Hornets, Wizards, Clippers (LA doesnt need two franchises)

I was thinking about the Bobcats also.

I wouldn't take out the Pacers because they have ABA history.

Yeah maybe not the Pacers, but the Bobcats instead. Toronto is another option. There's just too many watered down games in an 82 game season. With more marquee matchups fans have more interest in the regular season.

I wouldn't want to get rid of the ABA teams.

Nets
Spurs
Nuggets
Pacers
