Honestly i would give Shark a chance. 2012 not going to be year where Cubs compete. So i give Shark and Cashner every chance to show that they are future starting pitchers. If Cubs can get lucky and just have 1 of them stick in rotation then they can fill other 3 spots in FA or other specs that get brought up. As of right now my SP rotation would be

Garza
Demp
Wells
Cashner
Shark

Z will not be on the Cubs, Demp i can only PRAY that he opts out. Only other guy i go after in FA is Edwin Jackson cause he only 27

I've not heard anything on the Demp front...but it might make sense for him to opt out. He's clearly on the down-slope of his career, but there's not a whole lotta good pitchers on the market this year.

He was interviewed recently with all of this Epstein stuff going on and he was talking like he plans on be here and he hasnt even given thought to going anywhere else.

If he opts out, I wouldnt be surprised if he makes half of what he's making this year. He hasnt really done enough recently to get a big payday from the big market teams.
