Anyone have recommendations for just car insurance?

I had state farm for like 15 years and they were more or less great. Totaled a car years ago and they replaced it with no bullshit at all. And my rates didn't go up. I switched to progressive cause it was way cheaper but **** them. My old lady got hit in a parking lot but we didn't even file a claim cause there wasn't any real damage to her truck. But the other guy filed with his insurance and it caused our rates to go up. This after progressive told us straight up the accident would not affect our premium. My bill is up now, so **** them. Ima find a new company.

If military affiliated I would recommend USAA... at least they've been good to me...

Other than that go back to State Farm... sounds like you had a good relationship with them...

You don't really need good insurance, just a company that will replace your whole car for free if you take a total loss. If you get into a minor wreck and don't want to deal with filing a petty claim just pay some thugs to "steal" your car and set it on fire.

Or just drive it into a wall or something, bail, then report it stolen.

In college, I had a friend that couldn't afford payments on his car, so he put on full set of motorcross protective gear and drove into a tree at 40 mph. He got out, took his gear off and stowed it in the trunk, then called the cops. Problem solved.

State Farm all the way. I literally had a terribly bad lucked stretch of accidents within a span of 6 months and it took several accidents before my agent even warned me about possibly getting dropped. Have been happily accident free for years now *knock on wood*

Bro...I always had good luck with SF.(20 years a member). However, they were really high on homeowners insurance down here, and it pays to bundle homeowners ins. with your car insurance..So I went with Farm Bureau. They are really good, and less expensive than SF

I have State Farm and have a solid relationship with them. I haven't had any reason to file a claim yet though.

I have state farm for both home and auto.

Thank god I've never had to file a claim. However I have a great relationship with them and they have always answered my questions thoroughly.

Did your rates go up after the wife/SUV incident?.

To all who hate Progressive, I have an amusing story on them...also the only claim I have filed in over 20 years. I once had a one month old Toyota Tundra, $33K vehicle fully loaded. I was at a 4th of July party, we were all drunk and firing off mortar shells...which are large fireworks launched from tubes.

I think you all can see where this heading...

A friend put a canister shell in a tube upside-down(or was it me, I don't remember). It went up 20 feet, landed on the truck...did over $3,000 in damage.

I drove home the next morning, and reported it as an accident...told the adjuster I was simply parked in the street and found it that way.

They paid, adjuster said in his 20 years on the job he had never seen anything like it.

Despite this, I have still lost $$ paying for auto insurance. I only carry it due to the other assholes who don't...like the one who just creamed Tater.

We haven't got the bill yet, but I'm sure they will..NC has a point system. An accident like hers gets you 3 points..Id say a 30% increase, and it stays with you for 3 years. Car insurance rates here are so cheap though..We normally pay $800.00 @ year for the 2 vehicles.
