I think your rates are going to be high because you got a mark and ya need to wait a couple of years to clear your record.

The company I use is Pemco. They're only avaliable in Washington and Oregon to my knowledge. The rates are pretty inexpensive, and they're good on claims, but they business model is being cheap for those that have clean records and gouging the shit out of you if you're caused at-fault accidents or have moving violations.

I too left State Farm for Progressive's lower rate, got fucked by Progressive, then switched back. The only caveat is my new agent is a piece of shit and does things like not send me invoices when my term is up and also never returns my calls or emails. So if you switch back and you liked your old agent, make sure you get the same one.

I had liberty mutual for years and they were always good. Their rates kept going up every year for home insurance so I switched to State Farm a couple of years ago.

I've had to make a couple of claims with them because as assholes keep hitting me and then lying about what happened so they don't have to pay. Haven't had too much trouble with SF so far. Just one small problem when I bought a new camper and they mixing up the Vin numbers with the old camper.

I have the GIECO gecko covering my cars for 14 years. They have always covered my claims and were the cheapest everytime I price checked.

it's all relative. I had USAA through my dad and then got in an accident where I was at fault and they dropped me like a whore with ebola. I got progressive and had them for 12 years with what I thought was great service. Every 6 months without a claim, they lowered my premium. then during 2013 my wife got hit in the car 3 times and we got dinged once in a rental car while parked and they dropped us for filing 4 claims in one year.

Now, fair enough. Every insurance company probably has a clause like that. But here's what gets me.

We get contacted a year after we switched from Progressive to State Farm and told that if we don't show up and testify at a trial vs the at-fault and underinsured driver who hit our car, the trial will be dismissed and Progressive will pursue us for the uncollected money.

We were prepared to show up at court last week so this wouldn't happen but they informed us the day before (after we had both cleared days off for the trial) that they settled and our presence wouldn't be necessary, which left us already with days taken off and thinking wtf?

I don't know what insurance company is better than another but if they tell you you're a part of some VIP program, it deosn't mean shit. The only thing I can recommend is if you can get an affinity bonus for your car + homeowner's insurance which you probably already know. But they are all sick bastards.

I almost got fucked by progressive. But that's enough for me to hate them. They didn't expect me to study the law and flip the tables on them so quickly. If I sat on my hands and did nothing, took their word for it, I would be stuck paying off a structurally damaged car that would have been repaired by their "approved" mechanics. And no, no fraud from me. I was dead-stopped at a red light, hit head on 50mph by some 40 year old woman who died on or not long after impact on a cold rainy night.

Progressive needs a bigger tampon to stop all that Flo.

I had progressive for my motorcycle coverage... Super cheap and they took care of everything when an uninsured old lady rear ended me at a stoplight.

So there is one instance where they did thier job haha

I'm willing to bet the old lady had great insurance, and it covered the costs. I wouldn't give progressive credit for it.

You guys should've know better than to go to a insurance company that hires a woman as a spokesperson. Even the Geiko gecko is a dude.

One thing I learned: if you pay for underinsured motorist coverage, you are only paying in case of injury, not damages. If you want both, you have to tell them, they don't tell you. And if you don't specify, you might have to testify at trial that you got hit by someone with bad insurance. Take it or leave it.

Underinsured motorist coverage by default only covers if there is injury involved, not vehicular damage.

My insurance company's spokesperson played J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man. Spider-Man was my favorite comic book hero growing up. Therefore, they cannot be lying to me.
