Shopping for a vehicle sucks.

Why don't you just buy from a private party, duh. Come down to AZ and have your pick. Cars don't age here. You can still get early 90s toyota pickups with, shit you not, zero rust.
Where you at in AZ? moving to Tucson next monday

Personally, I find car buying cathartic. For one--my company qualifies as a supplier for it's field viehicles, so I usually qualify for the supplier's discount--meaning the dealership it not going to make anything off of me. Secondly I usually do a fuckton of research on the vehicle I want, so anything "added value" I end up knowing more than the salesdroids. Third, I alway drive my current car completely into the ground, so any "trade-in value" is a bonus. 4th, I make sure I have nothing else better to do that day so it makes playing the waiting game pointless for them. 5th, I'm always ready and willing to walk.

So, I end up fucking with them--like walking onto the lot and yelling, "WHO WANTS A COMMISSION?!?!?!". And seeing them run.

But again, to each their own. My dad does the whole leasing thing just because he can't be arsed with the maintenance. My wife might eventually be looking into trading in her car and prefers to pay as much cash as possible. My brother is similar but unlike my wife he doesn't mind going used (even though he went new most recently). My wife prefers new.

As for me, I prefer new and as I said, I run that car completely into the ground and get my money's worth.

But yeah, I know the games they play and the tactics thehy use (IMHO more akin to police trying to corece a confession that a lawyer). Knowing that i turn the tables. I can be patient and everything.

I would never buy a truck that was used as a plough truck no matter what the records or the mileage is. So the dealer, as much as I despise them, has a valid point as that truck would be a tough re-sale.

In American and Canadian English, plow is the preferred spelling of the farm implement and its related verbs. Plough is the preferred spelling in the main varieties of English from outside North America.

The spelling distinction applies to all senses of the word, including figurative ones. British and Australian writers always use plough, along with ploughed and ploughing; American and Canadian writers always use plow, plowed, and plowing. Both spellings are pronounced the same.

Examples

North America

In winter he plows the streets, and in spring he trims the trees. [The Atlantic]

Russell confronted a man who had stolen a snow plow and was driving across the city. [Toronto Sun]

Plowing through a stack of mail, he came to an envelope that read “This is not a bill.” [Washington Post]

Outside North America

The larger ones had been removed by the boys, swinging pickaxes into the iron land before the ploughing began. [Independent]

It was me that opted to plough through the storm. [Sydney Morning Herald]

A man who ploughed into a crowd of revellers outside a bar in Rochdale has been jailed indefinitely. [BBC News]

So those in NA use plow. Only the Canadian boys and the Aussie can use plough

I have a leased car. Have leased since I was 18. And will continue to do so. I dontrt want to own a car. By time the car is paid off the warranty is fucked and then the price of maintenance kicks in.

Nope. My lease is 210 a month for 2 years and its 15 equinox. By time the lease is done, I would have paid 4900 bucks. That equals someone buying a 30000 car on a six year loan.

I'd rather beat the hell out of these cars for now 200$ a month. Buying sucks, I have been at the same dealer for 9 years now. Its such an easy process for me going back to what Ommy said.
