depending on the cost obviously, but I would love to see Brouwer back. He is a guy that can go through a goal drought, but still knows how to contribute in other areas of the game. He can play on the top line or in shutting a line down defensively. Anything over 2 mil though, I dont think they can afford to keep him on

umm seriously brouwer is a guy you keep. no not just because his wife is super fine. but because he probably can be pretty fucking good if Q ever lets him get some consistent playing time on a line. plus i think with his shoulder injury and surgery he is priced lower so it makes even more fucking sense, unless your name is joecawks.

To me, there probably is a cheaper option than Brouwer, and I would choose the cheaper option over Brouwer. He's had injuries, and that concerns me. I'd take Kopecky over Brouwer.

This is all pretty subjective. It really depends on how much it will cost to keep him or what they can get in a trade for him. I do like the concept though, just to see what everyone thinks of these guys.

I vote "keep". I mean he has proven he can score and more importantly he's got a rough edge to him which is something this team needs more of... so if he's the least bit cost efficient, they should keep him.

I'm with Sarava; I think the Hawks flip him. He was unable to cement himself as the burly LW along side Toews and Kane this season and I don't want to continue to see Sharp on that line.

If we don't keep Brouw, we better bring Kopy back.

He really can't skate for the top line. Any bum with a pair of skates could put up numbers with DayDream Nation.

He really doesn't fit with the bottom lines. He is a top 6 style player who doesn't really play enough defense to fit in the bottom 6. I guess he could fit into the bum slayer line of 25-17-22.

Sign him for extra cheap........ or send him packing.

I'm curious to see his market value.

As mentioned in this thread- this was definitely his year to lock up a nice 3-4 year contract and he really didn't do it. Clearly the team had an off year, but I consider that an even better opportunity for a lesser name player to step up and chip in. Brouwer didn't really do that.

This ones a tough one. I mean, unless Brouw is on the top 2 lines, his scoring really doesn't show. And if he is on the top lines, I think for the raise he's looking for, he wouldn't be a top scoring option on the top 2 lines anyway with the other scorers we have.

He's been a hit machine for us all year, but I'm not sure he wants to be known as a 4th line bruiser with 4th line pay.

There's always a chance he takes the 1 year offer than becomes a free agent the following year.

I say keep him, he is not the most expensive player. He is a good role player who knows what he is suppose to do on the ice. And every now and then he will step up and carry the team for a game. He will play physical too, something the hawks are short on these days cant get rid of one guy who will throw his weight around.

I think that I would try to trade him, maybe try to package him with Hjallmarsson, in order to free up some cap space (basically Brouwer being the carrot in that deal).

Then take a shot at signing Brad Richards. If that falls through, go for some Defense depth (Andrei Markov maybe).

I was thinking the same thing about Richards when it came out that he was going to be a FA
