You're a fucking moron, the disscussion is not if home field is better than playing on the road but if the risk of losing a key player to injury is worth the risk of playing for home field.
No Way?!?!?!?

Really?

So your thought was:If the Bears can get the #1 seed they should try to. If they can't rest the starters. How original!

Relapse does have a point FT. The Falcons are very tough to beat at home. (7-1) I think. And 2 of the Bears 3 losses came when we were struggling early in the season, so I don't think home field would be a disadvantage for the Bears.

Still, I think the Bears have the kind of offense that would benefit from playing in a dome, and the Falcons would be hurt by playing outdoors, so I think the Bears have a good shot at beating them, either way.

The entire NFC is a ball of average. Any team could go anywhere and beat anyone. I mean the Bears were one Calvin Johnson "drop" away from being 4-4 at home this season.

You're second point about playing in a dome with our offensive and defensive speed is an interesting one though and has a lot of merit.

But does the fact that Cutler can throw the ball through the wind neutralize that point? I mean, we came out flat against the Pats and they killed us, but the next game was just as ugly outdoors, and we destroyed the Vikings...albeit w/out Peterson...Cutler looked good though.

I guess I'll say it this way. If we're get the opportunity to play the Falcons in the NFC Championship game, I'd rather play them at home, in the elements, than in the ATL.

I dont think anyone wants to play in ATL at this point.

Play the starters for a half...bad things happen if starters rest for two straight weeks.

The bears rested a shit load of starters in 2006 against Green Bay and Rex played like horse shit before Griese came in. We went to the Super Bowl.

And Favre for most of the game.

I'd rather have Jay throwing through no wind. Indoors or out.

We also just got lit up by Mark Sanchez in the elements. Like I said it's interesting do we want to play indoors to utilize our speed on both sides of the ball or play at home in the elements? In the NFC this year I'm not really sure how much it all matters....

I guess the question (especially if the Falcons win) is, "Is the benefit of sweeping the Packers (and going 6-0 in the division) and eliminating them from the playoffs worth the risk of injuring Cutler, Urlacher, Hester or several others?"

We get an extra week of rest with the 2 seed anyway, so I don't think the starters need the rest. I think if there is snow on the field and the risk of injury is elevated, rest the starters. If field conditions are decent, play them.

My biggest concern is that Dom Capers is going to be very aggressive and blitz the entire game. With how bad our offensive line can look at times and Jay having already sustained a concussion this year do you want to see him out there with Clay Matthews and BJ Raji head hunting him all game?

Without Cutler we would even lose to the NFC West team that makes it in.

So would you guys play our starters if they have a shot at the #1 seed (they probably won't at that point) or just settle for the 2 seed and be happy?

Yes. Of course.

Do you feel it necessary to keep taking my posts out of context to make them appear obvious? You know my point is if the risk is worth the reward, not if it is a good idea to have Cutler get hit for the hell of it. What are you trying to gain by being such a ****?

Dont forget the psychological aspect aside the physical aspect. Having the bye week is a huge advantage and we already have it with much rest. Crushing the Packers dreams of the playoffs would be a massive confidence boost and could send the Bears into high gear, with rest. Division rival games are always difficult, add in the playoffs and its just that much worse. Start them, if the game is lost by the 2nd half, let them rest as we'll see them again most likely and try again. Regardless of Atlantas game.

If we had a shot at the #1 seed I would go for it. However if our offensive line is allowing Cutler to be hit every other down, like they did against Dallas and the Giants, then I would pull Cutler and settle for the second seed.

Take the 2 seed and be happy with it.

I was simply answering a question you posed.

You should be a strategist for the Bears.

Then again, rest our Starters, put in Hanie. As so many asses off of FB all season bitched to put him in over Cutler. That way when he gets killed, no big loss :)

I say bring back Henry Burris or Moses Moreno for the hell of it. That'd be fun.
